If you've been given a pardon, you typically then don't go invoke the Fifth Amendment," DeSantis said. "You actually can be compelled to testify if you don't have an underlying legal risk from the conduct at issue.
"The fact that he took the Fifth Amendment either means he's subject to contempt of Congress, which they could potentially pursue, or he's acknowledging that Biden's pardon didn't necessarily cover all the potential lines of inquiry."
Paul has scheduled a committee vote for Aug. 5 on a resolution declaring Fauci in contempt of Congress. Generally, a witness who validly invokes the Fifth Amendment cannot be held in contempt solely for refusing to answer questions on that basis.
"Now, what you would need is one, you would need to have violations of state law," DeSantis said. "So, when he was testifying years ago, and a lot of us think he perjured himself in front of Congress, that wouldn't implicate state law.
"If there are things he was doing during COVID that would implicate state law, then you potentially could do it.
"But then you would also have to have personal jurisdiction. So there needs to be a nexus between him and a given state. Now, he did travel to Florida, I know.
"What was his conduct when he was here? I'm not sure."
DeSantis said another hurdle is the statute of limitations, which he said in most cases is five years.
"Most of his offending conduct was 2020 and 2021," DeSantis said. "Well, we're in 2026. Most statute of limitations is five years. So, I think that there's going to be a lot of significant hurdles to do it."

If the limitations are 5 years why did he get a pardon all the way back to 2014? Also Ron and Florida could easily be the ones to hold Fauci accountable but it appears that’s not going to happen.

New York changed the law to prosecute Trump bc of covid “delaying his prosecution.”Covid is still active in our communities today. He helped create the virus that killed thousands. How has the statute run out if he is responsible for a sickness and possible death of the person who gets it tomorrow. Fry the squirrelly bastard.

Seems to me that they could take a lesson from NY and pass a few "get Fauci" laws to reopen the SOL.

Because florida law is not always 1:1 congruent with federal law.

feel free to point out the statute you'd like him prosecuted under. I'll gladly forward it on to utheimer and ron.

You’re triggered for no reason. If we have any hope a state will do it it would be Florida.

Ron is right unfortunately. We live in a post-accountability society for the Elites, the very rich, & the poor. Only the middle class is ever actually held accountable for any wrongdoing they commit.

I think he did another abhorrently corrupt act in 2014, and or started his GOF to experiment on the USA.
Remember... they ran pandemic scenarios with all the corrupt DC Podestas.
DeSantis is running for President, it wasn't long ago he blamed Trump for not firing Fauci. When Fauci and scarf lady fooled everyone including DeSantis.
Isnt it convenient there is a sudden Fauci dog and pony show when the SOLs run out?
Did they pass the Save Act?

Couldn't he be guilty of negligent homicide if someone died and he caused it via illegal gain of function research?

Ron was on Fox explaining that federal officials have a lot of defenses and indemnities against prosecution at the state level for decisions that were made in their official roles. Basically he was saying getting state charges to stick would be a long shot once it gets into the courts.

Hopefully this can be done. If anywhere... it would work in Florida.
Crimes against humanity shouldn't have SOLs.

Well then why wasn't this done in 2024? Oh, that's right. Because it's all a dog and pony show, they are all in on it together, and they are laughing at us behind closed doors.
Nothing will ever happen to bad people unless society ceases to function.
They have gotten away with everything.

Because as desantis said MOST crimes are 5 years not ALL crimes are 5 years

Probably to protect him from charges that wouldn't be limited to a 5 year statute of limitations. Treason for working with the Chinese government on gain of function research that was illegal in the US. Or charging him with murder for covid deaths.

That doesn't make sense.

Care to describe any other governor at least addressing the issue

One thing I’m sure of that nothing will happen to Fauci. I don’t know what people are expecting to happen? Nothing happened after his mishandling of AIDS.

The argument might be this.
Fauci did NOT have the right to take the 5th amendment because of the pardon. That violation of the law was in fact furtherance of conspiracy to cover up his previous crimes, which means it's an ongoing criminal conspiracy, not limited by statures of limitations from 2014.
(in essence the crime is still in commission in 2026)
Legal Hail Mary, but would be fun to see demoncrats suffer under their own tactics.
