I am not arguing anything. I am asking you what industry are you bringing or would bring to Richland Parish that will provide 100s of jobs and will invest millions? If data centers aren't the answer what industry is?

I don’t get the negativity about this project. It’s like,” I don’t understand it so I’m against it.” These plants aren’t paper mills or chemical plants that produce a lot of pollution. I’m not sure what they discharge other than evaporation. Maybe somebody can enlighten me.
They will consume a lot of water. Wells a re being drilled to provide the water. I have not heard how much water the plant will consume but if it’s as suggested a really big plant maybe 5 million gallons a day. Well by comparison a paper mill that would employ 1000 people would consume 20-30 million gallons a day. Paper mills and chemical plants have significant air and waste water discharges that I don’t see with a data generating facility. It’s really hard to accept all the negativity surrounding these plants.

In Richland parish, this might not be a bad idea. Put these things in the middle of nowhere. In or around any metro area is a bad idea.

Out of curiosity have you even been to Richland Parish? This is one of the most economically depressed counties in the United States and would certainly stay that way if it were not for this economic nuclear bomb for the area. It finally will help put that area back into commerce as opposed to keeping people in this area stuck in 1920.

The same situation is going on in Prichard,AL. Just imagine the parts of BR that even the dtug addicts would avoid, that’s Prichard. Yet somehow, they are opposed to a data center. They have practically no tax base currently. The city is so corrupt that the police department was dismantled due to corruption. This is the definition of beggars being choosers.

I can tell you most people in West Feliciana have no issues with the Hut8 development. They just cut a check for $10 million to the parish. Teachers, Sheriff’s employees and others all getting raises or bonuses plus the parish is dedicating much of the money to roads.
