I think socialists/communists winning some elections is not indicative of a new direction of a vibrant DNC but rather squatters jumping into vacant seats of a plane about to crash.

The dnc is imploding because they hooked their wagon to a media apparatus that has quickly become obsolete, USAID and voter fraud. Like an athlete who lost their steroid hookup, without their artificial “help” they are exposed as being woefully unprepared to win elections or once there, govern effectively.

Quite the legacy you boomers have left. Don’t forget to leave nothing of value behind for those lazy kids you raised

... Like, for example, the greatest wealth transfer in the history of the planet?

I presume you are being sarcastic?

I may be as old as you or maybe not. But regardless of age, I ain't quitting and I'm not giving it to them without a fight. I don't know what I can do as an individual to fight it off but I'll do what I can. Folks on here want to blame boomers for everything but like every demographic there are some good ones and some bad ones. I hope we wake up before this communist movement takes over but it's going to be tough with 90% of the media is rooting for the Mamdani group just like some of the folks on here are rooting for Iran because they hate Trump that much. We are certainly at a turning point but I still believe that we can salvage this thing. God Bless America!

Are you praising Biden for equities and real estate growth from 2020-23?

Interesting take.

This mythical wealth transfer you boomers drone on about hasn’t transpired and likely won’t due to tax mandates your generation championed to help pay for your never ending expansion of federal programs. Very few of you care to bother with taking steps to protect your heirs.

That’s the truth.

You are not full of shite....but it appears to me that you are "opting out" of the fight to save America and leaving it to the "youngins" to fight it for you. They may not be equipped to do this without insight from older folks. If I am incorrect, I apologize. I would wager I am older than you

Good post thanks.

I would posit this is the fight we’ve been or should have been preparing for

Our parents fought it in person overseas in the 40s thru 70s

Now it’s our turn and it is going to be fought here on US soil.

It (hopefully) won’t take guns. But it will take our experience (including that of our parents) our money and our time.

I enjoyed reading your perspective, but I think you're connecting a lot of dots that you haven't really shown belong on the same page. The fact that Bernie, AOC, Mamdani, and other progressives exist doesn't automatically mean there's a coordinated plot to "take over" the Democratic Party. Big political parties have always had factions pulling in different directions. That's politics. Republicans have their own internal battles too.

You also use "socialist," "communist," and "Democratic socialist" almost interchangeably. Those aren't synonyms, even if some people use them that way. If we're going to diagnose the patient, it helps to know the difference between a cold and pneumonia. The rest of the post is mostly a forecast. Maybe some of it happens, maybe it doesn't. But predictions aren't evidence. If they were, cable news would've gone out of business years ago. I'd be more interested in talking about specific policies.

I don't want to be overly negative, but we're on the way down. It's just a matter of how fast. There's not really much that can be done within the bounds of US law to stop it at this point, and our weak and feckless "Republican" representation in Congress can't even get ID for federal elections passed.

What will you/I do if the Ds are elected to POTUS, and the House (225 to 210) and Senate (53 to 47). On a simple majority vote they abolish the filibuster, change the number of justices for SCOTUS and work toward statehood for DC and Puerto Rico? Throw in a move to admit people claiming any amnesty and open the border up to ten million a year to enter. You know what they are trying to do and they vote it in. And any remaining "normal" democrat just rolls over to let it happen? You know, any power is better than no power. What will we do?

Well they did and it is your turn. Boomers dropping like flies but socialists aren't. You gotta live here for the next two or three or five decades. That's a long time.

I am calling for generational change in republican leadership. Shame on you if you vote for anyone older than 55.
