Looking at yesterdays FOMC statement, inflation is still running below 2%. Don't look for the Fed to stray from gradual rate increases until inflation hits the 2% level.

Below is a chart of the early GDPNow Predictions v. the official GDP figures (Q4 data still has two revisions yet to come).
So if their early predictions had held true, then we would have had 3.3% growth compared to 2016 instead of 2.3%.
I find it interesting that given GDPNow's overly optimistic forecasts that are posted every quarter, these threads get a lot of discussion. But when the BEA released the initial estimates for Q4 and 2017 GDP last week, which was lower than expected, that hardly got any discussion, despite being official figures.
