France helped us in our fight against England. And now they are helping defend a member of thew Commonwealth against us.

The sub isn’t a ballistic missle boat it’s an attack sub. The attack sub isn’t capable of launching nukes. The French only have 4 Ballistic missile boats. US has 18 Ohio class Boomers in comparison.

The US Navy knew this before it left France.

To be fair to the French, militarily and overall they were successful in pacjfying Algeria in the 50s to the early 60s. DeGaulle then gets elected and sells out his own people there.

French Navy, while not as big as the US, is a first rate outfit.

1. We've tracked that sub since it left home port
2. It's not going to launch sitting next to the pier on the surface
3. When it goes back out to sea we will continue to track it
4. Our SSBNs used to also make port visits to Halifax

France is annexing Canada now?

Itd be funny as hell if France used the current tension to try and snatch Quebec back.

French actually has a word for attack? I would think the term for retreat is very well established .

Do you really believe that we would waste one of them following a boat from an allied navy? A boat that is not even equipped with nuclear missiles?

France operates five SSNs and four SSBNs. Are we following all of them?
Yea, I feel pretty confident saying that even though there may not be a Virginia on each of these boats, we know where they are at all times.

There is no doubt a Virginia lurking close by.

That is a very different question, and I agree with you that we almost certainly try to keep taps on them.

It is the notion that there is always a "Virginia lurking close by" that I saw as utter nonsense.

This is looking more and more like nothing at all, and possibly not even real. This was first "reported" two days ago on Xwitter. Zero news sources have picked it up, not even a mention of it. There are even questions of if the photos are old.

They lost staggering amounts of their best fighting aged men in WWI. Im more inclined to blame their downfall on that

Cool

Fact of the matter is the us would’ve pushed France’s shite in in ww1 or ww2 and it wouldn’t have been close.

Our men were superior prior to ww1.

Also, no way any of those coward nations storms a beach like we did. Fact.
