Fox News’ Gen. Jack Keane Says Russia Is Now Sending One Of It’s Best Units Into Ukraine

The 1st Guards Tank Army. Based near Moscow, one of the supposed premier units in the Russian Ground Forces. Stalingrad, Kursk, Berlin fame.
He talked about it on Fox News Sunday:
“This is a serious situation. I’m interested in following it. Two regiments are headed in there now and this truly is an elite unit. It’s based in Moscow for a reason. But I’m done underestimating the Ukrainians.”
Also, there is a new supreme commander in charge of Russian forces in the war: Gen. Alexander Dvornikov. Known in western media as “The Butcher of Syria.”
The likes of his cruelty has not been seen since...

Is there even a need for tanks at this point? I figured that conventional warfare was pretty much over.

When nukes and carpet bombing are removed, tanks still rule the battlefield.
There are better anti-tank weapons out there, but tanks still reign supreme if scaring the shite out of people.

Perhaps I'm dense, but why didn't they send them in first? When we first went into Afghanistan, we sent the guys that wrote that horsemen book, and I think they were Seals. We didn't send the Massachusetts volunteer college professor brigade.

Not sure if true but was reading the Ukranians have 2.5X the amount of anti-tank missiles than the Russians have tanks.
