I wouldn't say that that's the ONLY way to energy independence, but it could. There's nothing morally wrong with zero fossil fuel use, it's just a matter of practicality. I would say that minimizing dependence on fossil fuels would lead to greater energy independence.

These fricking idiots have no idea how electricity is made. Just flip the switch up and boom... power.

I don't think they know what "energy independence" means. I think they are doing the typical leftist thing in redefining the term to mean "no fossil fuels usage".

How will we transport the energy easily? How will we re-energize those transportation sources? We do not have that figured out yet. It's a pipe dream at the moment. Fossil Fuels are dominant because they are easily transportable, re-fillable, etc..

The logistics of electrical power is a hurdle we can't figure out yet, even if produced at a cheap and efficient enough levels to fully replace the output of fossil fuels.

So before the combustion engine people used horses/other beasts of burden for everything.

It's 2022 has the use of horse/other beasts of burden dropped to 0? Did the government try and push people off of beasts of burden? Wasn't the infrastructure (gas stations) for the automobile in place before the majority of the public got an automobile?

The Dimocrat messaging on energy is a complete mess. They claim to be for green energy, but are all raging about corporate greed and oil producers price gouging.

If they had any logical consistency or intellectual honesty they would love that fossil fuel prices are through the roof, which may make super expensive green energy more viable.

It is a huge failure that the Biden regime has at the same time done everything it could to make fossil fuels more expensive while doing nothing to further the green energy more cost effective and viable. It is almost like their plan is half cocked, and not very well thought out.

Imagine a world with no plastics, no paints, no synthetic clothing materials, no pharmaceuticals, roads and 6,000 more items.

These leftists are lunatics who have zero real world knowledge.

He did not say we would stop making plastics out of oil. This is a red herring of the right. He said "Fuel" "Fossil Fuel".
