The farmers in my family love him. Even those who work with the same crops you do.
Cotton, soybeans, and corn. No complaints from them or their friends. You're just a whiney Lil b. Nut up and do the work.
Everyone has good and bad times in the industry.
It honestly sounds like you managed your operation in a reckless way and got in over your head more than anything else.

Didn't you get your dick stuck in your zipper one time?

I'm sorry your business is suffering under DJT but many suffered in other sectors at the hands of Democrats. Further, many in the ag business voted their pocketbook in favor of Leftist policies.

It’s just happening to people like you now, because your industry has been heavily subsidized for decades, so you’re upset and lashing out.
It’s literally happening due to reciprocal tarriffs
Subsidies have nothing to do do with this. There are still plenty of subsidies for some farmed products but they’re still hit with foreign reciprocal tarrifs

My newfound distaste for Trump is well founded. I will explain to you exactly how this obese orange fool has fricked each an every man I work with up the arse. Keep in mind, we foolishly voted for this fricking troll. My family farms soybeans, the frickery is far reaching, nonetheless. We have been crippled for three big reasons. 1.) Tariffs: Retaliatory tariffs by China. This caused exports in soy, pork, and wheat to almost be cut in half. 2.) Farm prices fell drastically. Even if our yields were acceptable. The bottom line: A.) Trade wars Trump created cut off major exports B.) Crop prices stay low C.) Costs rose faster than revenue D.) Aid replaced sales I voted for this cocksucker THREE times, he has fricked me up the arse at every corner. The sycophants on here need to understand that there are legitimate reasons for conservatives strongly disliking Trump.
Must not be from Louisiana. Soybeans are a rotation crop. No one ever makes money off of them. Maybe you should learn to code.

given money by Trump to make up the difference
To be fair the 38 dollars per acre doesn’t make up the full difference. I’ve been told losses this year are 70-100 dollars an acre

Farmers are still bigger welfare queens than Somalis.

Question: What did you do with the money you made when soybean prices were record highs in 2022? Did you put the money back into savings or did you go out and buy a new $100,000 truck, wake boat, and new set of tits for the wife? My family put the money back to ride out bad years because they knew they were coming. They are not happy with the current situation but they are also not complaining about getting screwed over or going bankrupt. I live in an area that is mostly agriculture and most of my friends are farmers and the only farmers who are turning on Trump are the ones who spent their money on frivolous things and thought Trump was going to lower input prices and raise selling prices. These people are also known as dumbasses.

And where do the billions of subsidies farmers get every year fall in this free market of yours
quote:
you think the soybean or any ag commodity market was free before Trump?
I see. Y'all are stupid.
So I will explain the concept of the False Dilemma.
A false dilemma is a logical fallacy that seeks to distort a situation by assuming that taking one position is necessarily in opposition to some other position when in fact, there are multiple possibilities, not just those two.
So just because I correctly point out that tariffs artificially change the market, that doesn't mean I am being hypocritical because I didn't mention that current subsidies or other factors also do so.
Yes, many factors distort the market. Conservatives generally don't like any of them.
But Trump's tariffs represent the largest tax increase on the American people since I was 12 years old, and the effects are largely centered around agriculture, and we've already seen them result in having to bail farmers out to a degree larger than usual in his first term, and—most importantly—AGRICULTURAL TARIFFS ARE THE TOPIC OF THE THREAD. Not other factors that distort the free market. If y'all would like to start another tread discussing those, I'll participate.
Let me know if I need to expound my explanation on these simple concepts further.

My family is an 8th generation farm. Been on the same couple of thousand acers (not counting leased land) since the 1820's. Mainly row crops like cotton, corn, and beans now but we've done cattle, chicken and hogs in my lifetime. We own a gin too.
Bean prices have been lower than they are today, Same for corn and cotton. Back in like 2008 cotton spot price closed at .45 once. A couple of years later it was 1.95. I'm not sure about livestock since Tyson and Smithfield pretty much ran us out of business I quit paying attention to it.
Anyway....everything is fine. It's almost like you have up and down years all the time.
John Deere being bitches is a bigger issue for us these days.

Well, maybe you’re too stupid to be voting.
You clearly make poor decisions, based on your own testimony.

For a conservative, in tUSA, the quoted area here makes little sense.
Tariffs were the prime source of federal income at the time of this nation's founding. They should not be seen as a tax increase to a conservative, since the basis of conservatism is to conserve intent at founding. What should be seen as a greater increase is all the other taxes that have been lumped on. Tariffs meanwhile should be seen as a restoration. Other taxes should be dropped.

1. Is false. Many other farmers have said as much
2. These prices were low under Biden and have remianed same under Trump. Not Trump's fault.

Mabye you should stop riding around burning up diesel in your f-250 king ranch so much . I’ve never met a poor farmer these days , not sure what you’re doing wrong . Mabye convert your crops to crawfish ponds .

Bingo. The OP sounds like he was counting on Trump to make everything easier for farmers and coverup for the OP’s bad money management.

John Deere’s BS made my family switch from green to red over 10 years ago. Red has issues too but they are at least nice enough to use lube when screwing the farmers over.

I know several who farm a couple thousand acres and said they were losing 70-80 per acre. So a loss of 150k. And these buy new trucks, wife a new car, etc every year. Maybe hold off on that another year and boom you just covered your losses.
I lost 1.6 million two years ago in catfish farming on 650 acres. Im set to wipe that loss out and be in the black 200-300k by April. I don’t want to hear their whining
