Wheat, corn and soybeans have all seen a surplus harvest this year, both inside and outside the US. Along with that, processors/wholesalers are fricking the farmers far more than any politician, you can blame the growth of big businesses buying up the regionals (creating less competition for your harvests) for a lot of that. In the meat-packing aspect, for example, while the size of plants has increased the number of companies (and thus plants) has decreased by over half since the 1980s.

But if he's towing the party line.....then he is privileged and sympathetic and deserving of the federal welfare.

Another typical welfare queen farmer. Living in Iowa I’ve met plenty of you.

What’s your farms name that takes in subsidies. How many hundreds of thousands have you pulled in from the government over the years?

Funny how you think we should allow America to be butt fricked by the Chinese CCP just so you can get you 30 pieces of silver. Judas.

Protect him from what? The OP admitted he was a soybean subsidy queen going back 4 generations. He's had everything given to him by the taxpayers....for 4 generations.
Trump implemented tariff policy for the betterment of the entire country....and this guy took it uo the arse(his words...and he probably likes it).
Others have allowed that those farmers impacted have been given additional subsidy (true) to get them through this short term period.
This clown is just pissed that he can't buy his lifted, F250 Ford diesel this year. So frick him.

Bro’s over here bitching about a dip in soy when us ranchers deal with dip cycles every ~10 years.

Your crop insurance premiums is over 50% covered by US taxes. Don’t worry, we don’t supplement our cattle with soybean.

three big reasons.

1.) Tariffs: Retaliatory tariffs by China. This caused exports in soy, pork, and wheat to almost be cut in half.
2.) Farm prices fell drastically. Even if our yields were acceptable.

and the third is??

I was a farmer back years ago; although livestock and hay so never had crops.

More often than not; you spend 2 weeks in the spring putting the crop in the ground and 2 weeks in the fall harvesting.

I was in Mn and IA where farmers either spent the winter down south or at the bar.

They also had leased equipment.

Sounds like you are pretty well paid for the time you put in.

Well it sounds like you have a very short term view on your politics. It’s understandable to care mostly about what happens to you, that’s human nature. But this is a long play. Let it sort out and you’ll see the genius behind it.
