No. We're saying that the DoJ is part of the Executive Branch. Do you know who is the elected head of the Executive Branch?

Dershowitz was wrong when he said this before and it's just as wrong now, when it is taken to mean that obstructing justice is not grounds for impeachment, simply based on the claim that a president has the power to do it.

No legal scholar here = but /\ this is the definition of the 'crime' of obstructing justice.

Now it appears that when people spout 'obstructing justice' they are referring to political insinuations.

A president can be impeached for 'obstructing justice' in a political sense, but I don't see how any kind of criminal charges can be applied based on the facts as we know them now.

Of course there might be a pretty good criminal basis for obstructing justice against HRC for destroying information under subpoena by the Congress.

Hmm. So basically you trumpites are saying that trump is above the law. Correct? What a Fool Believes.

that isn't what I am saying at all. What I am saying is the it is well settled that an FBI investigation does not constitute a "proceeding" under the Code. Obstruction requires actions against a "proceeding".

This isn't difficult. How did you get to your assumption from what was posted? It is nonsensical.

You need to back off on this a bit.

There is one - and only one - political party which makes this part of their creed.

There is zero evidence that the allegations against Moore are true - and there are zero assertions that anything resembling those allegations has taken place in the last 40 f'n YEARS!!!

This is pure dirt dug up by a political opponent to disrupt an election in its final days when no effective rebuttal of the assertion can be made.

It is the f'n DEMOCRAT which is showing contempt for the issue of 'child molestation' by hauling out this emotional charge during a political campaign = thereby diluting its power when used against actual molestors. Just like you have done with constant charges of RACISM!!!! for political advantage, you have reduced that charge to laughable reactions thereby making its application to true cases of racism a joke.

to wit:

if Moore were not a senate candidate - you would not care what he did 40 years ago.

If Moore were a DEM this charge would have never surfaced in this campaign, because ALL the WaPo was interested in was finding something, anything to use for nefarious purpose of stealing a senate seat.

So get out of here with this shite about "moral principles' in this case. THIS case is all about political dirty tricks.

IF Moore make it to the Senate he will join the ranks of known moral degenerates in that august body - like Menednez, et al. At least he is not known to have killed (murdered?) a young woman 50 years ago like the Lion of the Senate Ted f'n Kennedy, who is still revered for his baby-killing abortion stance.

So mouth off your prog filth all you want - but please spare us your 'moral outrage.'

This.

The apoplectic and hyperbolice pearl-clutching is almost as laughable as the convoluted and easily disproved lines of Far Left 'reasoning'...

So, you're OK if a POTUS hands over a CD full of classified material to a foreign power and then directs the DOJ not to look into the matter?

Dershowitz is incorrect.

I’m not going to bother explaining why. I’ll just let you guys melt and downvote this reply.

But I’ll bump it when I’m right.

Yeah, this argument didn't work out well for Nixon.

The suggesting that the POTUS can not obstruct justice is demonstrably false. It depends upon the surrounding facts and intent. Saw this very issue discussed recently by a panel of law professors that are every bit as authoritative and knowledgeable as Dershowitz

I’ve been calling them out as well. It’s just many of y’all are fever pitch going with Moore all because the Democrats are being hypocrites here.

Really he’s a convicted child molestot? I missed that, I did hear the prog filth had tried to brand him as one so they could put a senator in who supported murdering babies at conception though.

Actually he (Doug Jones) is in favor of allowing an abortion on the babys due date. He finds it acceptable to drill a hole in the babys head and vacuum out the brains.

There is a special place in Hell for people like him.
