For Any Here Who Don't Want the Save Act to Pass, Give Me Your Reason(s) Why

For the record, I'm with the approximately 80% of Americans who favor its passage. I think it would be a strong step in the right direction regarding cleaning up our election process.
But for those who don't like it, tell me why.

One of many but this is one of nonstarters, requiring folks to get a passport to vote is rediculous, folks on here need to read info on Vote.org
A standard driver's license alone does not qualify in most states. A REAL ID alone does not qualify. A military ID alone does not qualify. A tribal ID alone does not qualify. Only five states currently issue enhanced driver's licenses that meet the bill's requirements on their own.
For most Americans, qualifying requires one of the following: a valid U.S. passport or passport card, a certified birth certificate paired with a photo ID, a naturalization certificate, or a Consular Report of Birth Abroad. If your name does not match across those documents, additional paperwork such as a marriage certificate would also be required.

The only reason anyone would likely have - at least anyone on the right - is that it involves a federal intrusion on states’ rights. I can’t think of another reason except, It will hurt democrats.

I’ve accepted that it won’t.
Part of me is ok with this specific iteration failing because they tacked a bunch of shite onto it and I oppose all omnibus legislation categorically (outside of appropriations/budget).

80% of Americans wanted the original SAVE ACT passed. Now that the house has merged the NDAA which includes section 219(merging our intelligence and military with Israel), I hope it doesn't pass. What do secure elections mean if we're no longer a sovereign nation?

Not true. You need a birth certificate or passport to register to vote, NOT to vote. You need a valid picture ID to then vote. A driver’s license will suffice, and it doesn’t have to be a real ID driver’s license.

I am so sick of hearing about having to show birth certificates. I need it for my kids to register for school, for little league, etc. Having your b.c. is simple and no biggie.
States need to start have real id and maybe we offer passports for free.
