I'm all for might making right. It's what made America great. But Mexico was conquered and hasn't advanced enough to even threaten to take those territories back.
The difference in Ukraine is that they had nukes to defend themselves with, and we talked them into giving them up. We wouldn't have this war if we had just stayed out of their business.

This was agreed to by Russia and the US - that Ukraine would be protected if they gave up nukes.
No country is going to trust US promises, just like they don’t trust Russian promises.
