Evangelicals turning on Catholics all of a sudden.
- Haha, they always have attacked and belittled us... This is nothing new.
The reason why a lot of evangelicals and non denominational Christians bag on Catholics is because the percentage of progressive Catholics is pretty high. These are Catholics who attend mass and vote for Democratic Socialist politicians. They're almost as bad as black Americans who claim they are Christians yet they vote for Democratic Socialist politicians who generally support unfettered abortion.

No. To stop supporting Hamas.

I can vouch for that. I sat behind him at worship services once, many years ago when visiting Auburn, AL for an LSU game.
Pretty sure he attended Church of God when he was in Auburn

If it’s going in any direction on this site, it’s the reverse.

Most of them became Episcopalians because that is where the rich and powerful were. My wife's ancestors did just that. Notice that Rex and the old family Mardi Gras Krewes are all members of the Pickwick Club and Episcopalian at least in name. No Jews, Catholics or "hayseed" denomination members allowed in upper NOLA society circles
That's a good dovetail into the post to which I was responding, in that even the most WASPy segment of New Orleans, owes it to the Catholics for giving them what has become their biggest celebration of their WASPy hierarchy.

I don't know about attacking Catholics, but everybody hates your a-hole Pope. The last one was a stunning POS too. Quit picking popes that are left of European socialists and everything should be fine. In the meantime you have Archbishop Vigano who is a good guy, so of course he was excommunicated.

Trust me, I have a relationship with Christ. Even in my younger rebellious years, deep down I never stopped believing.
I was raised in a quasi evangelical/pentecostal church.
What attracts me to Orthodoxy is that the traditions are literally derived from the first established Christian church and I personally feel that may help me get closer to God.

They saw how people were making money off of it in Mobile so started it for NOLA. The link to a pre Lent celebration was not their intent at all. Plus, they could play being aristocrats for a month. When a high society family degenerates financially over the decades, they will send a daughter to an Ivy League school to find a WASP husband along the lines of a 6th gen PhelpsYale alumnus who manages family money as a private investment bank. One of my wife's lifelong friends from Country Day did just that. They had a giant ballroom in their Manhattan home/entire building. Her parents filed bankruptcy right after they married daughter off. They lived in a St. Charles Ave mansion

Not really. I think you are seeing a backlash against Catholics like Cadence Owens and her vile ilk that have used Catholicism as a justification for Jew hating. I am a evangelical pastor and other than theological differences I have not seen any of my people "turn against Catholics,"
Also, social media is a bubble and not real life. Don't let it make you blind.

The Church is the Body of Christ and Jesus is the Head. Maybe Catholics are like the Shoulders carrying the weight of 1,700 years of tradition, steady and don't like to budge, where as Evangelicals are more like the lungs, full of breath but also tend to expand on each "new movement".
The shoulders may think the lungs are full of hot air and the lungs may think the shoulders are stuck and stiff necked, yet both are part of the Body.

Not a bad way of looking at it.

Makes sense since the church has been trending to progressive and socialist leanings.

The opposite. They’re embracing tradition and rejecting the ridiculous spectacle of evangelicalism.
What with the guitars and divorced pastors and what not.

That’s just the Methodists, some Presbyterians and the Episcopalians. Not the Baptists, Assemblies of God, Pentecostals and certainly not the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. To be a tranny, you’d have to wear makeup and they don’t do that.
