You can only guarantee control of both legislative houses for two years. In addition, if the plan is to elect other MAGA candidates in the midterms, then you need to let the public shock due to cuts past and allow people to see the positive benefits of the layoffs before Election Day. I would guess, they would want to do the bulk of the cuts in the first 6 months for this to happen.

They should make every department start zero based budgeting, and justify it. The days of % increases should be over.
