I'm sure they've uncovered more than $1T is wasteful and fraudulent spending... but how much has actually been "trimmed"?

Why do people continue to just fricking lie about every god damn mother fricking thing?

Don’t call me a liar just bc you aren’t aware that they said it could be 2 years but wouldn’t be longer than that.

He was designated a "special employee" which is limited to 130 days. His team will continue on with doge

Elon leaving DOGE?

Fox business just said he was "stepping back" to put some time in at Tesla. Didn't say anything about him leaving DOGE permanently.
Doesn't seem suspect to me. He needs to make his Tesla investors feel warm and fuzzy.

He said in the DOGE Bret Bair interview that his duration working DOGE was 130 days. Was a surprise to me.

Tesla needs for him to focus with the launch of RoboTaxi coming among other things

His companies seem to run like well-oiled machines though

Their actual sales numbers have contracted and BYD is going to absolutely wreck Tesla outside of the U.S. This isn't even a recent development.

You’re confusing the program as a whole and Elon being there. The plan for Elon was always 130 days.

Believe they already are.

I;d love to test drive the BYD Shark hybrid pickup.

No, the plan was 2 years.

I think by law, it's capped at 180 days. Musk said he is leaving after 130 days.

yes he has 130 days as a special employee and Trump himself said yesterday Elon had to return to run his companies like Tesla.

He did give a timeline. But IIRC;: the rumors were Tesla asked him to step down as a board member or something. I can see him doing this to help Tesla.

When will we actually see that $1T cut? The budget in September?

That’s a great question, he’s an easy target. My guess is that he has the right people in place so it can continue without him. Having a more “measured” spokesperson may actually help, as Musk can sometimes get over his skis when talking.

He is only allowed 130 days given the way he was appointed per Trump.

Whether that could be renewed I am not sure.

I’m still waiting for the identification of a single person found by Doge to have been defrauding the federal government. All persons found to have engaged in fraud should be prosecuted and funds should be clawed back. There isn’t a single identified fraudster.

All that they have done is declare employed federal workers to be “waste,” and fire tens of thousands of people. That isn’t fraud. Arguably, that isn’t waste either.

Unless something concrete develops soon, this was just performance.
