was incorrect... my bad It is a jungle primary in November & runoff in December

I'm just glad that we don't have two more rounds of wasted elections.

For posters from other states do you have runoff elections for your primaries or just go with highest percentage of votes in the primary election.

No to all three for me.

Voted no on all 3 for me as well

9.5 mils on the library
2.0 mils on council of aging
4.96 mils on BREC

15.46 mils.....$154.60 per $100k of house appraisal after homestead
exemption

So a $300k house less $75k homestead exemption these 3 taxes account for $347.85 in taxes per year.....

on 3 things i do not use.......

EDIT: i would have voted "YES" for the library if they would have cut the millage in half....the have more money then they need.....

i have 114.05 mils on my assesment and this represent 8.3% of my property taxes...... there are better areas to fund....

Do we think Cassidy already being out will depress GOP votes today?

I think it depends on the parish. In Ascension this is the only thing on the ballot. Other parishes like EBR (3) have tax renewals on the ballot. A lot of the time the sponsors of those taxes choose this date expecting lower voter turnout. The people passionate about approving the tax show up. The people that see a renewal as something not costing them extra money don't care as much.

Letlow is going to be a let down just like Cassidy. No wonder why Louisiana is such a corrupt state. Letlow is a part of the good old boy class.

Good ole Foghorn Leghorn. He walks a thin line, but he's probably full of shite.

Most of them all are.

Like Rush said, "it's politics 100% of the time with these people".

Good point! They would have most certainly not passed in the primary.

Runoff in TX, which is how it should be.

I think the original proposed closed primary bill in Louisiana Legislature was worded where a candidate would win with just a plurality. That’s stupid, and thankfully got changed to needing a majority before it passed both chambers.

No matter if it's Fleming or Letlow... I hope the winner remembers Trump won Louisiana 58-38 (2016), 58-40 (2020), & 60-38(2024)

Meaning if Dems try to impeach Trump again... it probably isn't a good idea to vote to remove him

You can have disagreements sometimes... it happens... but voting to kick him out of office isn't a great idea
