I think people should be hired on merit not based on their race or sex. Recruiting based on race and sex is illegal and discriminatory. It’s exactly what DEI seeks to do.
Most reasonable people understand that there is a significant difference between seeking out qualified applicants and hiring unqualified applicants to meet a quota.
I don’t support either but someone engaging
In the former in 2020 while working under the LSU system that pushed both the former and the latter doesn’t really move the needle for me.
Especially when Fleming most significant achievement in his tenure in Congress was getting Duck Stamps raised by $10.
Even the Republicans in Congress didn’t support Flemings proposals.

Fleming
No on all tax proposals
The willingness of people to go to the polls and vote more taxes upon themselves even when given a direct choice has always baffled me.

Fleming secured Global Strike Command to Barksdale during his tenure.
That’s is such a grossly inaccurate assessment of what happened. He support it - as did all Louisiana Congressmen - but most the wheels on that decision were in motion prior to him taking office. The DoD and Air Force command were already moving in that direction before he became a junior rep.

I always vote no on millages but for the first time ever BREC is showing signs of competence. The old BREC board was completely removed last year and replaced by the mayors of the five metro areas of EBR. There has been more positive change with BREC in the last 12 months than there was in the previous 12 years and it looks like they actually hired a competent superintendent. I’m willing to give them a shot.

It was slated for Minot in South Dakota. Fleming deserves major credit for those efforts to move the Command to Barksdale. That base sustains Northwest Louisiana.

So worthless
Agreed. Letlow pushing DEI at ULM was worthless.

Slick Tangipahoa trying to slip a 10 year, 4 mill property tax renewal to subsidize health units. The millage will raise $3.1M+ annually, if it passes. F all that.

I voted yes on the library, which I was iffy about, but voted no on BREC and COA.
I don't live in EBR, so don't know the details on the library or BREC, but what swayed you to yes on the library tax? Seems like the EBR library system is always over funded and they have been building brand new libraries (none in St. George area) that have gone over budget. How important are libraries in 2026?
I will admit that libraries are useful for their meeting spaces and computer access. It just seems like a more efficient building could be created without all of the books.

I also noticed you were silent on Fleming being a completely worthless member of the House.
In your opinion, how many pieces of legislation does a member have to write and get passed to not be considered worthless?
Don't we have enough laws already? Shouldn't we judge them by their votes, not what they author? Flemming received A graded while Letlow received D and F

Jamie Davis will win to set up his 60-40 loss in November
Honestly, perhaps it would be best. Davis would serve no longer than 6 years. Letlow will be selling us out for 24 years.

If Letlow loses, it would be only the second loss for a Trump endorsed candidate in over 150 primarys held in 2026. Trump is batting near 100%

If Letlow loses it will be because she put too much stock in the Trump endorsement. Seems like all of her advertising leads with Trump endorsed me and not much following that. Instead it should be a list of reasons to vote for her followed up with a "by the way, Trump endorsed me."

Do we think Cassidy already being out will depress GOP votes today?
Perhaps some are like IDGAF between Letlow & Fleming so long as Cassidy's out... they're fine voting for either come November

A Trump endorsement in a state or local election means nothing to me. With everything on POTUS’ plate, I find it nearly impossible for him to know and understand the fundamental differences between Fleming and Letlow, and it’s my opinion that that’s the case in practically all of these non-incumbent races.

I've gotten four texts from Letlow today. Leave me alone Julia.

The problem now though is we're about to shoehorn the House of Representatives party primaries with the new congressional maps in so the general election for those can be on the November ballot too
Genuine question, is this an assumption or do you know this for fact? I was under the impression that we were back to jungle primary for house seats since the map changed.
