It was pretty common up into the early 1900s for mid teen girls to wed men in their 20s early 30s. But it was for practical reasons. The girl was a mouth to feed at a time when most people were poor so the parents wanted her wed soon as possible. Life expectancy was much shorter and it was common for families to have 8-10 children so the mother needed to start relatively young. Lack of quality healthcare meant having kids in your 30s was risky. So the prime birthing years were 15-16 to late 20s. Men were older because older men had more money and could provide.

Back then it was practical not a perversion. And due to the harshness of life teens were far more mature than those today. It’s just not practical to compare societal norms then to today.

A 15 yr old girl today is probably mentally and emotionally as mature as a 9 year old in 1910

I was a freshman in college at 18 banging a 17 yr old high school girl.

Though that wasn’t illegal because the law has an age gap exception I think it was 2 or 3 years

There is two different arguments going on here.

1: fricking kids is messed up regardless of age and society would be better off without those people in it.

2: fricking kids is messed up BUT the age of the kid should be a factor because it's not as bad if the child is older and more mature.

I fall into the "if a 40 year old man or woman is fricking kids they should rot under a jail regardless if the child was 1 or 15", but that's just me.
