You’re as bad as the DU types. Never owned a Corolla but I don’t care what other people drive. I don’t think a Prius makes you a douche nor does it impart you with extra virtue, same for a 350 dually.

last week i was pulling into the neighborhood WM by my house and i was trying to turn right into the main parking aisle and this fricking dickhead in a truck too big for him to drive properly was coming out, trying to take a left to leave the parking lot. he was nowhere near the cars on his right and was almost dead fricking center in the aisle, preventing me from being able to turn right into the aisle. dude refused to do anything but sit there and made me drive to the far aisle b/c he lacks the baw to drive a 250 properly.
my old office has a big parking lot with ANGLED parking spaces. i used to have a weekly "if you can't park a truck, don't drive a truck" post on FB where i'd take pictures of these baws' parking attempts. some would legit bleed into about 1/3 of the neighboring space.
there have been some threads on this over the years

Wife drives a Nissan Armada. We could move and not have to use a trailer. Love it. 14.2 MPG of 5.6 L dual OHC and frick off. Pulls the boat like it’s a go cart.
If I ever get to old to drive the cars I love, (the ones that make actual noise and make you pay attention on rainy days) I think I’d buy the Titan.

It is a real thing. I have an f150 supercrew and I know I am not the greatest at parking it in tight spots. I park in the back or away a bit so as not to be a problem. The walk is good for me anyways

and that's fine. that's the responsible and respectful thing to do

He doesn't need one, therefore you don't need one.
Also, what does this even mean:

i saw a Chevy "small" pickup last week. looked about the same size as a 1500 from the 90s. i actually meant to go look it up so thank you for reminding me
*ETA: yeah, very similar sizes (exterior)
I too have noticed trucks getting bigger. I have a 2007 D-max, and the newer 1/2 ton trucks are just as big or bigger. A lot of trucks I see are lifted also.

Damn, I thought Toyota quit making those in the 70's?
It's only like the top-selling car in the world.

quote:What is a "truck-necessary purpose?" Picking up some sod to patch bare spots in the lawn? Hauling out the old sofa and picking up the new one? Picking up some new bushes for the landscaping? Towing a boat or trailer? Hauling lumber? You're telling me half the people with trucks in the South dont do some of that?
Half the adult men in the South have trucks they don't use for any truck-necessary purpose

And if you put a trifold or retractable cover on the bed, you have the biggest trunk possible. Great for road trips, vacations, ball park, etc.

I think he’s probably correct just based on my eyeballs. I see a LOT of trucks with nary a scuff mark on the bed, chrome running rails that have obviously never gone down a 2-rut road, etc. Ons s given day, especially in metro areas, easily 9 out of 10 daily driver trucks are hauling the driver and nothing else.
Now I don’t care, at all. This is America and we’re not restricted to things we “need”, and a lot of vehicles are purchased for their image, not just trucks.

Then don't buy one - aren't libs "pro-choice"?

True. I see it a lot up here too.

This.
Same thing happens in Utah. And any one who drives an oversized truck typically doesn't know how to drive or park the thing either.
That's the worst part.

Even when not hauling anything, I still prefer a pickup because I don't like having to fold my 6' 3'' self into a car. Today's truck suspensions ride great.
