A Prius can’t haul 2000 lbs of rock

I could not find even ONE manufacturer which produces a SMALL pickup. I did find a few articles indicating that a non-domestic manufacturer is CONSIDERING adding a small pickup to the lineup in a couple of years.
What about a Taco? Does Nissan still make the Frontier?

I was nearly squashed by an unusually large pickup.

Thank God I was wearing a mask
I never knew the masks could provide this kind of protection

can’t fit 10 sheets of drywall in a Prius.
Ironically you can't fit drywall in a lot of trucks these days. Having a truck has become more important than having something useful.

They do. I’ve had a basic Frontier (fleet style with the stick shift) since 2012. Good truck, won’t haul huge loads of anything but good enough for my yard supplies from HD on weekends never plan on selling it.

How do these phags think things get built? Nearly every industry, with the exception of our new social worker police force, IT and academia, use trucks to haul, build, manufacturer.
Trucks are part of the life blood of America.

Same goes with plywood.
Call me old school but I prefer trucks that you can actually haul things with.

Who the hell really NEEDS a pick-up truck, let alone a massively huge one. Are there really that many people in this country who are hauling around shite from place to place on a regular basis? I kind of doubt it.

If you want a vehicle with lots of passenger space and grocery/weekend project space, your options are trucks and SUVs. We don’t really make large cars anymore, I think Volvo and Subaru are the only companies making station wagons anymore. Trucks are cheaper than SUVs when we are talking equivalent passenger space, so they sell better.
More people should probably buy vans (Financially they are a pretty good deal) from a practicality stand point, but a lot of people don’t care for the look, and in rural areas vans are limited by ground clearance.

I can’t imagine going through life as a liberal city dweller.
Some of us need a real truck because we do man shite and have a true need for 400+ HP and 1000 ft-lbs of torque. Rolling coal is just for fun though

I don't care if the truck is big as long as the driver can properly drive, and more importantly, park. Too many baws who think they're badass can't even park their truck.

but the truth IS that trucks have been getting bigger and bigger and bigger.
Not necessarily the truth. In the last 5 years both Ford and Chevy launched smaller sized units to compete with the Tacoma. Most of the people I see with F250’s or above are landscape folks, construction, or boat haulers.

i saw a Chevy "small" pickup last week. looked about the same size as a 1500 from the 90s. i actually meant to go look it up so thank you for reminding me
*ETA: yeah, very similar sizes (exterior)
