A FEW MONTHS ago, on an ordinary day in an unremarkable Costco parking lot, I was nearly squashed by an unusually large pickup. Thank God I was wearing a mask. As that chrome grille closed on me like a man-eating Norelco shaver, time slowed. It seemed I was watching myself from afar, being nimble for a man my age, darting from the path of a towering, limousine-black pickup with temporary plates, whose driver barely checked his pace. Jerk.

Get you arse in gear pops. You slowing me down.

Wait, "slack muscled, toxic masculinity"? That's... kinda contradictory.

Are there really that many people in this country who are hauling around shite from place to place on a regular basis? I kind of doubt it.

That right there shows how completely fricking out of touch these suburban soy sippers are. I haul shite in my truck literally everyday (2001 Silverado 1500 5.3... 214,000 and still strong as hell). And that's not even for my job, but for personal endeavors and side work.

I guess his MAGA hat was too tight on his head that day.

Nope. Nephew was planning ahead. This will give him the excuse he needs to build that 20×40 shop he's been thinking about for years. Two roll-up overhead doors, and he can park his boat right next to it, and use the back half to store his gas generator welder, lawn mower, deep freeze and fishing shite. Win win.

I agree with this. What's not to like about pickup trucks? These guys are jealous that they can't climb into one and reach the gas pedal.

The size of the trucks isn’t the problem. The problem is the loose nut behind the steering wheel. If you can’t drive the vehicle don’t buy it.

Today's pickup trucks are no bigger than 30 40 years ago and they get better gas mileage and have less emissions. He sounds like a giant gaping vagina.

I really hope this was a women because no self respecting man buys a fricking Toyota Corolla. If you are going to get a car at least get a midsize sedan.

Also, since we are on the topic of trucks, I have a question. My family and I are moving from NYC to Atlanta(closing on a house in Johns Creek in 2 weeks) and the wife and I haven’t had a car in 10 years. Wife is getting a SUV and I’m going to be getting a truck and in all honesty I don’t know shite about them so what recommendations do y’all have for a new truck?

No, that’s a similar rig me and sweetie are contemplating. We’re getting close to retirement and trying to decide on a truck and RV or just using Air BNB/VRBO for traveling around the country. I can do a lot of VRBO for $130k lol! But I’m looking for a new or late model GMC pickup and I’m trying to decide on a 1500 or a 2500 HD. If we decide to go RVing I’ll get the 2500 HD.

You need a heavy duty engine with enough clearance to handle the truck nuts

I don't think I could carry that 4700# dry weight Lance slide in camper in a Toyota Mini. Besides that, they don't make Minis with an eight foot box.

Yeah, definitely go with the 2500 HD especially if you plan on hauling anything behind you.

My boss has a '14 2500 with the Duramax and I swear to you that thing has so much torque it could pull the 3arth off it's axis.

Well, frick you Camry driving, fart sniffing, sensitive little freaks who take offense. I give 2 shits about your Camry or your insecurity. I've been driving a truck and USING what I drive since the age of 14 and I'm closing in on 75! That's 60 some odd years and I like my General Motors Corp badged GMC Canyon. The only thing I hate is being too damned old to use, drive and back up a LWB 3/4 ton 2500. So I drive a mid size. But it WORKS (something a pussy wouldn't understand) for me.
