Drug ads on television must end now. Some drugs have more side effects than cigarettes.

Daily we are hit with ads for particular drugs sold to us by the for profit pharmaceutical companies via their "salesperson" known as your doctor. They have a compound effect on us, no pun intended.

Most of these drugs have far more debilitating effects, including death, than a cigarette does. We got rid of tobacco ads and drug ads MUST go away as well.

But if the media isn't paid off they may be motivated to investigate all the crimes in the drug companies.

But how will I know which meds to tell my doctor to give me?

How will I know what to do about my moderate to severe plaque psoriasis? My UC?

Bobby needs to shut em down.

Just make them change the name to the worst side effect.

Jardiens becomes known as leading to death.

I can't wait to take 'infection of skin of the paronym'.

Why does pharma need to advertise drugs to people when only doctors can prescribe them?

I'm not 100% in disagreement, but limiting speech and an entities ability to advertise just feels so...liberal.

That used to be a much bigger problem on this board. Oh well.

You may experience nausea, diarrhea, malaise, joint pain, headaches, anal leakage, erectile dysfunction, swollen lymph nodes, some forms of cancer, heart disease, or sudden death, but those pimples will be almost unnoticeable. Do not take Zit-B-Gone if you are allergic to it although we don’t know how you would know, but our high paid lawyers said we had to say it. Zit-B-Gone, you can’t live without it.

take the lawyers off as well.

Did you know Big Pharma spends 9 billion a month on advertising... more than R&D.

No they don't, but it convinces people that they're sick...

WTF was restless leg syndrome before people saw it advertised.

A question as old as time itself - starting with the first one to appear.

The drugs themselves are irrelevant. Sure, they want you to ask your doctor about them, but they don't really care about individual drugs that they're running ads about.

They want access and leverage to keep your reporters from asking too many questions about drug costs, side effects, adverse events/reactions/interactions, etc.

How about being a free country with less government control? Why should government limit ads for a legal product?

What's insane is i knew a very level headed and calm fella that killed himself taking a drug to quit smoking. Chantix is well known to cause suicide...murder and violent mood swings yet its still on the market. Just smoke cigarettes for crying out loud.

I guess I must be unusual... I have never once seen any drug commercial and, after seeing it, thought... Hmm... I need to ask my doctor about taking that. Not really sure what the big deal is with them. But I realize I'm in the minority here with that novel opinion.
