There's not a chance I would ever own a home, business, or any property in orleans. It's like you cross an imaginary line and life is 1000% better in Jefferson because of competent government, police, infrastructure. It's absolutely ridiculous. I know so many diehards that scoffed at Jefferson until latoya. Now people that said they would never move are selling and trying to go anywhere, Jefferson, st Tammany; shite half of lakeview has moved to bay st louis now.

Unfortunately eventually, Jefferson will have issues too because the aggressive almost intentional decline of nola will leak into surrounding parishes. Eventually we will all have to spar with just leaving the greater New orleans area we all love, and as that happens it will get worse. Sad story here of what happens when you have completely unopposed incompetent government.

As long as she didn't vote for Latoya. If she did, she shouldn't leave.

It's already happening in Slidell. Easy to drive across the twin spans. pickup your unplanned donation, and head right back across.

I personally know her and her family, they are great people.
I can confirm that they are moving out of the state. Just more talent packing up and leaving this shithole.

Hello Mandeville..

I watched that story, but wished she would have said something bold like "I am moving to Mandeville/Metairie/etc where the parish leaders don't tolerate crime, are conservative, and the citizens are cordial, family oriented, and have accountability for themselves." It would be refreshing to see news stories covering professionals who heavily criticize city leaders, and portray the positives of moving to another area. The local media needs to portray New Orleans as a complete mess with incompetent leadership for decades. They need to make life miserable for those in city hall.

The investigative reports by Lee Zurik and David Hammer are awesome, but more coverage by the entire media staff needs to demonstrate the disgust of the citizens, especially those with means and economic influence on the city.

I thought this was going to end with her getting sued by the victim, through some 2-bit hustler lawyer, despite trying to help the person.

That would make it a true New Orleans story.

I understand your disclaimer, but that is the problem. Gives the good blacks an out for not keeping the others in check. Blacks, as whole, need to start holding themselves accountable. Other races can't do it. Even the somewhat reasonable blacks told us whites to stay away.

Blacks need to get their shite together, especially if we are supposed to "celebrate their excellence"

I agree. This is a problem in the black community that can only be solved within the black community.

Latoya was right on a few points yesterday, one of which being that there are law abiding black people in Nola who know family members or friends who are committing these crimes and they’re remaining silent.

Unfortunately while she may have been correct on the causes, she offered no plan to combat it, nor did NOPD.

It’s honestly time to bring in the national guard. If city leaders can diagnose it but can’t fix it, it needs to be escalated to those who can. Enough is enough.

What areas of high multiculturalism aren't in danger? Almost every example we have shows multiculturalism being way more dangerous, violent, and criminal. And gun ownership has no bearing on this. Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Dakotas have more guns than most European countries and have less homicide than those whole countries. Coincidentally those states are super homogeneous compared to a lot of the United States.

Multiculturalism is a very low trust society that isolates individuals.
