Ever consider that I included it to make my argument more nuanced? Yes Donald Trump is despised by a majority of Americans, but he also got his base out to vote in the midterms.

Yes, good for you. But in the end, your nuance would have been my counter argument had you left it off.

I don't think it's right to say Trump is that much more unpopular than most presidents. However, I can buy that those that dislike him really loathe him. Like a deep visceral hatred.

And they can suck it.

And there are more people who hate him than love him but they may not be in the right geographic locations to beat him in an election.

More delusion.

Obama’s and Clinton both lost 50 plus seats and republicans had 34 incumbents retire this cycle. Only 21 republican incumbents lost their seats. Dems were supposed to seeep the house and senate. What went wrong?

Cognitive dissonance? You’re relying on the only poll (of many) that supports your assertion. That’s textbook cognitive dissonance.

They retired specifically to avoid losing.

It’s amazing it is as good as it is when you have all of big business, all of Hollywood, and all of DC constantly trying to undermine him.

No. Don't get me wrong. I appreciate you gals being honest for once. You accuse others of hating but that's just projection.

Keep it up.

Obama was popular and was a governance disaster.

If you have to be unpopular to get shite done, so be it.

Why do people talk about this like it means anything? Trump could have won the pop vote if he would have campaigned and spent money in places like Boston, NY, LA. It's like bragging that you won time of possession in a FB game but lost by 21.

Trump winning in 2016 should lead us to never say never, but it's not looking like Republicans will ever win the popular vote for the foreseeable future. This means the only way they can win via the electoral college which may one day lean Democrat as states like Texas and Georgia become more and more blue.

Obama was likable and historic. Most Americans, however, understand that he was a weak and ineffective president. Obama was more interested in testing leftist political theory than being a pragmatist. Trump is the opposite. People like the results more than the man, but that will ultimately be enough to get him re-elected.

We have built a culture that prizes being "liked" over individuality, and deem "friends" as people who use each other as click bait on a daily basis.

So excuse me as a grown arse, free thinking adult male who hopes that he is in the masculine majority of those who DGAF @ popular and unpopular OPINIONS.

I suppose if you are fragile and lack confidence, then you worry every day @ who likes you and who doesn't. If your worth and/or life's relevance is based on popular opinion around you, then I couldn't feel more sad for you.

Fortunately, unlike you, and countless others like you, the POTUS goes about his business of making things better for all Americans despite the barbs and slander.

The bottom line is that, as always, the election will be won by a few states. Neither California nor Alabama will decide the race, no matter what Trump's numbers are.
