If I were Trump and Wheeler called begging for help, I'd turn his race baiting arse down.
Let him suffer for a few weeks. Especially after the shite he said about Trump this weekend.

Trump shouldn't say that the entire city of Portland is burning IMO - he should say that it's decayed and the businesses are being hollowed out and devastated. He should say that nobody wants to visit and that it's not a fun place to be.
The violence has mostly all happened in a 3-5 block span and the physical damage is surprisingly minimal.

I knew one, but he moved during Covid... to Minneapolis. Can’t catch a break.

I was in Portland in early March. Beautiful city and area. Homeless living on the streets and shooting up heroin, not so nice. They let that trash roam the city and this is the outcome.
San Fran too. I went out there for my wife's family reunion a couple years ago and the homelessness is insane. One of her family members said they had to close part of the subway system down due to some sub stations being so deep in feces it was toxic. I go to New Orleans occasionally and comparatively it makes NO look sterile.

If I was one of those fools that lives in that building, I would have probably formed a group to go pull that mayor out of his apartment and throw him out front of the building and lock the doors behind him.
Why not? They won’t arrest murderers. They for sure are not racking up the arrests for breaking and entering and assault.
At the very least I’d be drinking tons of water, downing some asparagus, and pissing in balloons. And they all get heaved out the windows at random times.

Yes, my best friend lives there, and I know several others through various professional or personal connections.
It is really pretty contained to downtown and then every once in a blue moon something like this out in the neighborhoods next to the mayor's condo or near the ICE facility. Just in terms of raw numbers of people involved, it's pretty small.
The protests and riots and looting in Chicago was bad (the looting at least was way worse than this), but day to day life wasn't any different than normal for 90+% of the city. You would have never known it was going on if you weren't watching the news or Twitter.

I don't live there but yes it's going on. A few days ago some antifa figs broke in and had a sit-in in the lobby of the apartment complex.

This nonsense has been happening in PDX for years.
I went to a conference there about 6 or 7 years ago. I went up early to spend a few extra days in the city. Even then the downtown area was swarming with homeless people but most of them seemed to be 20-somethings and teenage runaways who were very aggressive panhandlers. The parks in the downtown area were filled with people shooting up right in the open. Everyone there working in the cafes and shops downtown looked like they hadn't changed clothes since getting home from Woodstock. The hotel staff told us that Portland had the highest rate of homeless teenagers in the nation. Most of them are runaways who get to the west coast and then end up there somehow. The local people I met at the conference were from the suburbs and said they never went downtown unless they absolutely had to.

Don't worry. You can bet your arse that Antifa/BLM are heavily infiltrated.

I know a very liberal family whose like-minded son went off to school at Portland State University which is right downtown. He recently transferred to another school saying it was too much even for a liberal like him.
My wife's family lives in the area and they tell us that most of what we hear about going on there isn't a drop in the bucket to reality after dark in Portland.

Fireworks being shot outside of Ted Wheeler's Condo. Air Horns being blasted.
Another video shows Antifa starting a fire and breaking into a furniture store to find more stuff to burn.
Spray painted on his building is ACAB and "Ted Wheeler your next."
I mean hollee shite. Is this fricking real?

Regarding Portland, it’s an overblown media circus. Very political. I’ve not seen one thing going on outside the 2 or 3 blocks were everybody battles the police downtown
I'm not familiar with the area, but does the mayor live within 2 or 3 blocks of the federal building?

I hope Trump has the FBI and every other acronym agency running loads of undercover work to put these crazed leftist insurrections down.
I don't. Let them burn to the ground. There's no way it can survive. If they want to destroy their own city, let them do it.
Ted Wheeler could not be any more left and still be functioning mayor and they still despise his arse.

Yes. He told me that it was right wing agitators causing the problem. That was over a month ago. He truly believed it.
The liberals here really believe that. Portland is a lost cause.

Nope. BLM is just a philanthropist organization too.

about 10 blocks. Like walking from Harrah's casino in the Warehouse District to Jackson Square in NOLA
