Systematic actions seem to always have unintended consequences, often just as if not more negative than those they are attempting to systematically resolve.

how is me pointing out a shitty aspect of their belief system not me displaying "things I can control like my knowledge and information" about their cause? pointing out shitty rhetoric/beliefs shows the very thing (understanding their argument) this thread is based on (allegedly)

i'm talking about the philosophy behind "systemic racism"
isn't that what this thread is about?
why are you having problems accepting major issues with the belief system?

I cant imagine being a young kid in poverty and constantly having authority figures(teachers) in my life telling me I may never get out of poverty, even if I try really hard. I cant imagine how soul crushing this is. This is tenfold worse the worst example of systemic racism you can find.
THIS is a great example of systemic racism. The destruction of the black family unit, the promotion of violent, non family culture, the continuous claims that white people are out to get black people, the arguments that black people aren't capable of getting IDs.

accepting this as true, then why are those who want to change things so opposed to changing the policies leading to those consequences?

Whether unintended or nefarious, it still tells me the focus on the individual is more efective than any attempt to focus on a "system."

it's a false narrative destroying the nation peddled by political hucksters to attempt to explain inequality of outcomes without having to tackle hard truths.
a black man is 100000 times more likely to be killed by another black man, are they racists?

Actually, he's blaming that concept on people like yourself.

Would you say the same thing about mass incarceration?

Personally, I’ll acknowledge that. I believe there was a systemic destruction of the black family. The government instituted policies that encouraged(s) single motherhood for decades.
The democratic party has done that.

But this is exactly what you are talking about in your opening post. BLM and the media outrage refuse to consider a perspective that single parenting is an issue that in part makes AA people poorer, in fact it's racist. You asking people in this thread to consider other people's views when it's pretty clear how people on social media feel about differing opinions at the moment.

No. Incarcerations occur on an individual level. I'm not aware of a lot of instances of "mass incarceration."

If racism is systemic then how are any black people successful? You can't use a broad term like systemic if some are completely unaffected. Must not be a very good system considering we just had a black president for 8 years. Nazi Germany is what systemic racism looks like. Not 2020 America.

That was 70 years ago. There has been tremendous progress since then and I dare say that it is only a small minority that is racist to any degree. A minority that is quickly dying out.

Naw...I'll probably just wait for a CNN Town Hall to explain it to me.

Is the system racist? Or is the system designed that way for political reasons as people become more and more dependent on the government?

It seems like most posters here think that everyone just needs to “try harder” and they can get out of poverty without acknowledging the various obstacles impeding this.
Because hard work and better decisions generally improve your position? And passing that the next generation improves their situation.
We are almost 10 generations removed from slavery, 4 generations from the civil rights movement, 3 generations from affirmative action, 2.5 generations from the last national klan group dissolving, 2 generations from police brutality no longer being ignored. We have had black Supreme Court justices, black congressmen and senators, black chief of staff, black president. And yet you could honestly believe we are still fighting these battles.
At what point do we acknowledge equality of opportunity exists on a basic level and it’s no longer the systems fault?

Apologies. The "you" wasn't directed specifically at you, but at those who harp on systemic racism and want more "programs" to fix the issue.
