People on here give you a hard time for being an intellectual doormat. Then you go and make a comment like that and literally prove it.
I mean, seriously bro, do you realize how utterly stupid you sound? Clearly you don't.

Many of the people here who are now anti vax used to claim it was a hoax. The hoax crowd has disappeared for the most part but some are still around. They just don't advertise it as clearly.
I’m a fairly regular reader of these threads and outside of a very rare whacko post, I saw nobody claiming the virus was a hoax. What was common was the argument that the response to the virus was ginned up hysteria, way outsized relative to the real threat, and consistently dishonest. And now 18 months into this shitshow, it’s pretty clear those arguments were accurate.

This was very common in 2020. Not so much now.

'm not an anti-vaxxer. I'm against forcing anyone to get a medical treatment they don't want. FWIW-These are not vaccines, they are therapeutics. Vaccines immunize, these only have some protection.
Yeah, we're waaaaayyy past that.

We understand. There’s a plethora of bitch in your heart. Don’t worry, us real men will protect you.

I used to think you were bright enough to understand distinctions between traveling and shooting substances into a body. 2020 cured me of that.

Covid just made some people realize our rights are being taken away lol. People have been trying to warn us for years.

They don’t.
They simply can’t get past the emotion that drives most of the decisions they make in life.
Fear.

People should be free to do whatever they want with their own bodies. Like, if I want to drink four liters of vodka and drive my Hummer down the highway, it is my right to be free and autonomous to do so.

I have a friend who thought covid was a hoax. He stopped believing that when he lost his dad. (Vaccine wasn't available then) He has now lost his sister and his sister in law both of which may have had their lives saved if they got it.
And thousands of lives could’ve been saved if the govt hadn’t threatened doctors and pharmacists fo withhold medine to treat and prevent Covid.

In the same light where they believed that anyone who defended Trump on certain issues was a "Trumper".
A lot of people didn't necessarily like or love Trump, but they sure as hell don't like the direction of the left.

This thread wasn't needed; we've discussed this ad nauseum. The "vaxxers" you talk about are libs, not Reps. I got the vaccine and am way to the right on the political spectrum and IDGAF if anyone gets the vax or not....gonna go with most people on the same side of the political spectrum as me think the same way. Stop giving libs air.

Do vaxxers realize the anti-vaxx fight is about freedom and autonomy?
Let us be fair. The fight is about both stupidity as well as freedom.
Anyone not a young child benefits from the vaccine. But but but my chance of dying from covid is 1 in 100,000. Yep. Your chance of a bad outcome from the vaccine is 1 in a million. That's is you are healthy and 20. Older the risk for bad outcome goes up.
So one would be stupid to not get vaccinated.
That being said, I agree with the poster. People should be free to make stupid decisions.
The freedom to make choices within reasons is a finding principle. That's means the freedom to make good choices and bad choices. That means getting vaccinated which is active and having something bad happen to you versus doing nothing and having something bad happen to you may be worth that increased risk to some individuals.
While I consider the distinction between active and passive as moot in this situation, others may not.
I further believe that the government, cdc, media and science itself has shown themselves to often lie for financial or political reasons so now people don't know whom to trust.
So these democrats in my opinion have created their own problem.
And they shouldn't be able to change the laws of the land to suit what they want now.
But let's face it, democrats do this every day. I hope they can't do it, but we will see.

Jesus, you dense frickers have never read a history book. The Government does not give freedoms, it only takes them away. Once they can force you to take an experimental vaccine, they can force you to take anything. This has nothing to do with if you know someone who died of COVID, it has to do with personal freedoms.

and BY ALL MEANS .. DO NOT go to a hospital and beg the people you're accusing of vast conspiracies to save your a$$, you hypocrite.
Alright, fine. How about mandatory piss tests to receive govt benefits (which should be canceled anyways)? You gonna be okay with it if hospitals refuse treatment to someone who had a few beers and wrecked their car? What about if someone gets the flu but didn't get a flu shot? You going to tell those people to stay home too? You going to be alright if hospitals deny obese people care?

Except for the part where I’m driving down that same highway too. I have a right to not expect hammered fellow drivers

George Washington did it so did we ever have that freedom?

GW did not vaccinate his troops from smallpox. He innoculated them. Smallpox vaccine was not developed until 1796.
