This isn't a routine surgery. We won't know whether the operation was a success until after a significant rehab period.

I'm hoping for improved stability in that part of the world and better relations with a new govmt in Iran because of this, but this could also trigger a global recession and or spiral into a boots on the ground situation with the US fighting a proxy war against China and Russia. Not to mention the chance of global war.

Its not done yet - we'll see what Iran looks like after this is over - see if they actually get it done and can or just leave some kind of fractured state run by remains of the regime

As is very clear, we intend to eliminate the regime completely.

Yeah, Iran and Saudi Arabia are exactly the same.

I don't necessarily agree with this in this instance. Breeding dissension in the ranks on your way out isn't a great thing to do.

Iran has been a serious geopolitical problem since 1979. In many ways, they’re like a chronic pain that constantly nags at you, but the only way to possibly get rid of it is through a painful and expensive surgery with a long recovery period. Is the surgery worth it to possibly get rid of the problem, or is it better to just keep enduring the pain?

You are creating a narrative after the fact to justify what Trump did.

It’s been amazing to watch the Trump-first (as opposed to America First) people just ignore all evidence that shows the war was ill-considered and that Trump is maybe losing his mind.

Even if your “necessary surgery” analogy is accurate, do you really believe now was the time to do it?

He’s right. All of the “greatest ally” people will deny it but we absolutely went to war because Israel told us to

So much propaganda from this administration. MAGA loyalist covering their ears.

Clearly, he doesn't know enough, because he resigned over eliminating a major source of terrorism throughout the world and here in the USA. If he is remembered in history books, he will be remembered for making a stupid decision.

Or maybe he thinks this special military operation will not eliminate a major source of terrorism.

Pulling back the veil to show the people that you serve (the tax payers) what is really going on behind the scenes is exactly what needs to happen.

I thought we liked transparency. "This is exactly what I voted for".

Intentions don't mean that it will actually get done

World isn't black and white guys.

I have serious doubts that Trump was "duped" by Israel. My concern is that Trump may have been misled about the aftermath - ie, the likelihood of a coalitions and personalities poised to take leadership roles and gain some degree of consensus. But it's early, and I'm not convinced that's the case either.

I see no reason not to at least consider that Joe Kent might be operating in good faith. He's not particularly over the top to date. He's sacrificed greatly for his country. On the other hand, we see all types of serious people devolve into engagement artists on the right, unfortunately. So that's possible too.

If he's on Tucker next week selling his brand as the guy who called out MAGA for betrayal, I'll lean toward the latter. If he's largely quiet after his noisy exit, I'll be more inclined to think this was purely a conviction move. Regardless of his motives, he could still be wrong. But I think it's worth putting into the mix of voices we're listening to on what's happening in MAGA foreign policy.

This isn't transparency as much as it is this singular man's opinion. There's a difference.

Taylor Budowich calling Joe Kent a "crazed egomaniac" while defending the Trump administration is pretty hilarious.

Don't think Russia is a current threat to the US.

Did this bitch quit over all of the arms we sent to Ukraine? Or does he think its ok when our missiles are fired only when foreign countries are the ones doing it?
