DeSantis as VP would be a great setup for a 12 year GOP run.

He outsourced governing to Jared, Ivanka and all the GOPe trash they brought over from the RNC.

DeSantis is not likely to waste his star power and high stock to disappear into a figurehead position that has no power.

Could you all imagine him dragging his scrotum across Kamala's cackling dumb bitch face in a debate.

They are very much interested in Desantis if runs, he would a big threat.

They would still use voter fraud to win and 24 could still be a repeat of 20.

Agreed. Moderate here who sees trump for what he was: an unmitigated disaster for conservatism. We have a small window to show the country that there’s an alternative to the welfare state and Trump made progs’ job too easy. DeSantis can express coherent thoughts without sounding like a retard. I’ll take him.

I would definitely consider it.

Why? Just curious. It seems completely out of character for you based on the years we’ve shared on this board.

Problem is, I'm not so sure you could get two people among us to even agree on a description or definition of "conservatism". And there aren't too many folks who are willing to relent and negotiate a mutually acceptable understanding/definition of it. Thus we end up with every other person saying one particular thing/action was a success or acceptable, while the next person deems that same thing/action a spectacular failure. Folks "moving in the same direction" is a significant problem at the current time.

I agree with OP and Trump surpassed my expectations as president.

For me, Trump was never the end game. Trump was a blunt weapon needed to wake people up about the leftward cultural drift of the country. The GOPe had to be killed off and he was the perfect tool. What I want now are people like Trump who can speak obvious truths and fight the cultural battles in front of us.

Trump was a means, not an end. Trump never has and never will be small government enough for me. Give me someone with his qualities and a more developed philosophy on government.

I don’t know if I could support another Trump ticket, but I’d fully support a DeSantis ticket.

Trump is not going to win if he runs in 2024. He will, for the third straight election, underperform the majority of down-ballot Republicans in the suburbs of most states, including those that he wins. His weakness is he does a shite job of appealing to these suburban voters, many of whom are women, who are Republican-leaning voters who have split tickets for the last 2 elections. They voted for most if not all down-ballot Republicans the last 2 Presidential elections but didn’t vote for Trump.

If you want to lose in 2024, by all means get behind Trump. I’m done with losing. DeSantis is a slam-dunk. DeSantis does better with women, suburban, minority, and younger voters than Trump does, and thus won’t badly underperformed most down-ballot Republicans. He’s also far more articulate and a much better debater, and he won’t surround himself with conspiracy nuts (Wood and Powell) who will encourage voters to boycott runoffs and hand over seats to Democrats. He’s also much younger, which is a plus. He’ll be 46 in 2024 whereas Trump will be close to 80. Not to mention, DeSantis is clean as a whistle in his personal life and we’d be able to play the “moral high ground” card with him.

Who cares about this though? We have a crack head as the president's son who dealt with China. The media will make Jesus Christ himself look like Satan

Stop caring what people think about optics. Optics only apparently matter to conservatives. Dems don't care

There is no way in hell Trump and Desantis are on the same ticket. Both don't want to be VP. If Trump decides to run again, he will turn his back on Desantis and make up some cute nickname for him. That's just Trump's style. He likes to win, and if he can't win, he will destroy everything that gets in his way.

If you’re a GOP voter I don’t know why you wouldn’t support him over Trump in 2024. He has many of the same policy positions and is similarly effective in his attacks on the media, but he does so in a much more controlled/competent way without coming off like a raging a-hole.

Yet when I see early 2024 polls Trump is still getting more than double the support that DeSantis does among GOP voters. Makes no sense to me.
You're absolutely right.
If this country's conservatives don't realize the fact that they can't elect a candidate that most of the country just doesn't like personally, and that people who sympathize with our ideology will stay away from the polls before they take the time to go vote for someone they don't like!
Folks, wake up!
