It's like making a "Vice President for civil rights and diversity" position at a company. Then all sorts of innocuous slights are found to be grotesque violations of law because if they are not the VP will lose their job because they will have nothing to do.

This office will be politicized by both parties unless they have co-leaders, A Dem and GOP at the same time.

This is correct.

Can't this be accomplished by have a unit in the Florida State Police called the Election Crimes and Security Unit. I mean, is creating more Government really needed to accomplish this goal?

I kinda doubt it.

Of course not. Let’s not pretend that the party advocating the ability to vote WITHOUT identification is not the bad guy. Every other transaction in the world requires valid ID except, if Dems get their way, voting in American elections.

Great idea on the surface but we need less people enforcing the long arm of the law.

Something needs to be done but more people on the public dole is never the answer & if anyone trusts LE these days they don’t deserve liberty.

Agree

And the penalty for election fraud should be death.

So this police organization would exist to make sure the people you and Desantis align with would win since the people who think differently should be arrested?

I think the only way to do this is have two directors of it, one from each major party.

The answer is... A republican widower.

Most likely to get caught by election police?

You don't like that? May you walk behind an intestinally distressed camel!

Collect the ballots and tell people how to fill them out. Easier since mail in ballots began, but has been done by electioneering for eons. 150 years ago it was a keg of whiskey near a polling location. The practice (legal per Fed law) is to give out checks for expense money to go to the polls and give a list of who to vote for.

That is what all those rides to the polls is all about.

This is a bad idea. Once the first democrat wins the governorship that police force will be part of the cheating process.

It would likely be part of FDLE.

It’s like our FBI.

Wish there was more focus on local police in each precinct doing these investigations.

nyc
harken back to mrs clinton running vs Obama 2008.
in harlem obama got 0 votes in many precincts. the results are sent electrinically by a policemn hitting a key.
interviewed the police all claimed to have accidentally wrong key.
way back machine.
Clinton won manhattan in senate primary. elizabeth holtzman lib darling congress from manhttan demands recount in close one. dem party denies request. clinton wins nomination in upset.
cops will not prevent cheating.

It is the job of the state's AG Office. Of course the current Florida AG is a political hack who would never investigate a Republican.

But yeah, you don't need guys with guns to investigate election crimes. AG Investigators can do the job and do so all the time.

No because like you I love on Long Island (though not in Cow Neck I have been at the Gatsby castle off Jericho tpke, that's not too far from me) and the candidate here in Huntington - the Democrat - was running radio ads on WALK and WBAB and WKJY featuring his wife saying "we always have room for more at our table", this following some scandal (it was on News 12) with him having to do something about turning a blind eye to illegals (I was out of town for the brunt of the story so I missed the details and anyway it was really only a Huntington thing).

I took the "always room at the table" to mean "come on in illegals, we will remain a sanctuary city" so I voted for the GOP slate and Ed Smyth. Nice guy too.
