BO is real. I sure as hell can tell when my 13 year old "forgets" to put on deodorant when he walks through the door when he gets home. It fricking reeks, thank goodness he is getting to the point where he is self-conscious around girls, before that started his hair, clothes, hygiene were a mess. He didn't have a frick to give before the girl thing kicked in.

Seriously. Society has been trying to smell better for thousands of years. Ancient Egyptians liked to smell good with mints and perfumes. A lot of people in the 16th century liked carrying around potpourri bags on their person, to smell better. The deodorant they're talking about became a societal thing in the late 1800s. It was just the latest attempt that humans used to smell better.

While I appreciate the family patriarch fixing the car, mowing the lawn, and working out on the elliptical, I'd prefer that any associated stench be washed down the drain.

That reminded me of when my dad picked me up from school one day, and I got in the car all he said was "are you wearing deodorant yet?" "No Sir". And we drove to Albertsons, and walked straight to the deodorant aisle. Ha.
