Who is denying that there was slavery in the US?
ETA: Are they going prepared to say that the Ashanti tribe in Africa is the tribe that sold most africans into slavery?
Or that the 1st legal slave owner was Robert Johnson, a black man?

When I think of slaves the first thought that comes to mind is them working in the mountains of Colorado.

My thoughts exactly. She's just as retarded as the Asheville elected officials who are paying for reparations study. It is a COLOSSAL waste of time.
In 1860, there were fewer than 1000 people living in Asheville and MAYBE 100 slaves. Records are poor, but those estimates are considered fairly accurate.

The indigenous peoples of Colorado held captives and slaves for hundreds of years before the first trappers and mountain men get there. I do not think fur trappers and mountain men held slaves as they were not farmers but hunters and trappers.
What a dilemma for the leftist who might actually understand history.
But for the fact that Colorado became settled and then a state, their indigenous people had to give up their slaves.
