My guess is it was the admin (Trump), not Musk. The idea that it just happened and nobody did it intentionally (followed by an attack) is a fairy tale.

Any admin would deny it, but I seriously doubt this admin gives two fricks about political blowback. Definitely not enough to alienate a trillionaire ally. Those don't exactly grow on trees. And it's our network. If we lend it to someone and that someone uses it to frick with our interests, then I agree with them throttling bandwidth.

Was this access only to be determined by the Pentagon? If not why? If Musk did it (say he just went rogue and slowed it down wo US gov authorization) that’s the end of any US military contracts moving forward, and criminal charges are absolutely on the table.
