Right.....so why are they ( the Trump team) offering that as an answer when asked who is responsible for throttling the access speed [to Starlink]?

If they were asked about Starlink then he answered truthfully that Starlink is under SpaceX control, and Starlink is not a military asset and Musk can do whatever he wants with it. I'd bet the person asking the question doesn't know the difference between the two networks and the admin answered the question as it was asked. I'd need to see it all unedited. The media isn't known for providing full context.

In the meantime, until I see them linking Musk to the throttling of Starshield I don't consider that statement to be "blaming" Musk for anything.

ETA: I'd like to add, if Ukraine was intentionally using Starlink to run military operations, and Musk throttled their bandwidth, I do NOT consider that to be anything that could possibly constitute a "war crime." SpaceX is under no obligation to aid in Ukraine's war effort.

? ? ?

What a nonsensical load of crap.

It's not like he abandoned a US ambassador behind enemy lines to defend himself from the radical Muslim horde his boss created and supported, right?

At this point in time, what difference does it make that the Muslim horde was not attacking a US consulate over a YouTube video.

It was according to the WSJ starshield that was throttled but I understand what you are saying and there is a interchangeable use of the names of both systems in the media that is adding to the confusion....but if it was only Starlink systems effected then why did Musk deflect initially? Id just like to have a clear understanding of what occurred and who is responsible.....and thus far it seems like everyone is trying to obfuscate the truth.

And for those saying frick Ukraine.....fine frick Ukraine ....but I think its fair to ask the decision makers to own the decision to frick them

Probably because some Mensa candidate from the press who doesn't know the difference said "hey man why'd you throttle starlink you got ukrainians killed!" So Musk "deflected" to "i don't control that shite."

The obfuscation will continue. With the timing of recent events Occam's Razor would suggest Z bit the hand that's feeding him and got himself a swat on the nose. In my opinion, if everything went down as I assume it did, then he earned the swat.

Which section of the contract states he must do what the government tells him to do? I’ve read thousands of contracts. I’ve never seen a provision like this.

Rubio is passing the buck and throwing Musk under the bus. With the amount of government contracts he has/had the U.S. government should be able to completely control Musk. If Musk turned off their access it's because as Rubio said he was explicitly allowed to by the government.

Liar.

Absolutely not.
The absolutely unbelievable amount of fraud that Ilhan, the Somalians and democrats in general are being tied to is not a negotiating tool to barter with.

Lashing out at the admin is all the dems are doing.
MWade and Powerman are fully on board with it.

Let them keep living in their fantasy world. It’s not even fun anymore to talk with these people and debate something. They’re too far gone and are only consumed with hate. That seems like a shitty way to go through life, but they insist on it.

So what if he did order a Starlink slowdown to Ukraine? Who says he is obligated to provide them these services. It’s his company. He can do as he darn well pleases.

If Musk intentionally kneecapped the service moments before a Russian attack that got innocent people killed that’s the end of any US (and European) contract he’ll ever get. And that’s not the end of his problems.

That’s really unlikely though, Trump admin most likely made the call.

Also, NOBODY is even pretending it was “spotty service”.
