saw the thread title and thought "this has to be the Onion" but nope. when you don't like what God has to say, you recreate god to fit your own agenda - classic idolatry

She already has. She is a follower of her father as described by Christ

John 8:44 “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies

In the mind of the left, it does though.

“For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” Revelation 22:18-19 NKJV

This is where I sometimes struggle.

The DSS/Book of Enoch.... were they not written and intended to be included? It was the church (man) that gathered and arranged the myriad writings that would become the Bible. Which books, and the chronology, and what to omit.

I trust that GOD's will played out as intended, and that we (Christians) know enough to just get by, but I still feel like man stepped in and left out many of the details that connect the dots. These writings may have been "lost" or hidden away, but they're dated to have been written mostly in the 300BC era through the first century A.D., the same time frame in which much of the accepted modern versions of Biblical text were written. I become frustrated in not understanding why they left them out. It feels to me like when the modern US government declassifies and releases information with heavy redactions.

They didn't say they wanted more of God's word.

In fact, that's the point.

They don't want God's word, they want their own. Same as it ever was.

I guess by "problematic" she means "we don't like what it says and want to re-write it so that it's what we agree with".

You mean like what Martin Luther did.

The Word of God is what it is. We cannot change it to benefit our personal beliefs, needs, desires, etc.

Our choices are to accept it and follow it or reject it. We cannot change it

Martin Luther primarily challenged the practices of the church and how they deviated away from the scripture.

Im Catholic to the core and I believe Martin Luther probably saved the church.

That’s because modern liberals think they are smarter than the Founding Fathers and now God when in reality their intellect is more on par with an inner city high school dropout

I'd like to call for a firing squad.

Anybody should be able to see thru this. It's all about trying to discredit Jesus.

Wow. The Bible is the word of God. Questioning it seems like really bad decision

The "word of God", according to who? The people who wrote it?

Why not write another testament? Hell, you Christians have been editing and adding to the NT at will over the centuries.

I remember when a lot of people were blown away by Rick Warren's book. Within a few years that sellout was trying to promote some atrocity called Chrislam.

I saw him the other day say Talarico was a good Christian man.

And Wescott, Hort, and Tischendorf were in agreement.

That’s exactly why I only reference the KJB as it’s the received text, and did not originate from the land of Gnosticism and had the fingerprints of unbelievers all over it.

You should all do a deep dive on the origins of all of these new bibles.

For anyone interested, I’d suggest Wescott & Hort From Faith to Doubt for the beginnings of this 19th century pivot from trusting the received text for 1800 some odd years. .

Also, a very good tool for comparison between the KJB and modern bibles. It’s significant KJV Compare
