"The walls are closing in" finally coming to fruition?

So it seems this may have happened when she was his chief of staff, did Gav sign off on the 1.7 million in expense reports being she was his top aid? Fraudulent use of funds by both?
DOJ Press Release
quote:
The Conduit Scheme
According to court documents, between February 2022 and September 2024, Williamson conspired with Greg Campbell, 52, of Davis, Sean McCluskie, 57, of Davis, and others to steal approximately $225,000 in funds from a dormant political campaign and funnel it to McCluskie for his personal use. Collectively, they funneled the money through various business entities and disguised it as pay to McCluskie’s spouse for what was, in reality, a no-show job.
False Tax Returns
From 2021 to 2023, Williamson claimed a total of approximately $1,718,277 million in business deductions for what were actually personal and nondeductible expenditures, such as food delivery services, luxury vacations to Mexico (twice) and Santa Barbara, private jet travel, purported wages for family members, home goods, veterinary services, landscaping services, and other nondeductible personal expenses. Williamson’s false deductions resulted in a tax loss of approximately $504,523, which she agreed in her plea agreement to pay back to the IRS in full as restitution.
*ETA: to answer your question, Gavin Newsome had nothing to do with the $1.7M. It was fraudulent personal-business deductions. not having anything to do with her job.

That’s not a minor thing.
A chief of staff in politics knows where the bodies are buried, usually they helped to hold the shovel.

Mark Halperin said yesterday the Newsom story has legs, and he’s unlikely to be the ‘28 nominee.

If Newsom is out, that really might open the door for an AOC run.
I despise her but genuinely think her message is better received by the base than the DNCe types and their bench is really thin.
Who else is there?
Mayor Pete?
Kamala?
Shapiro (PA)?
Thune? (JK… kind of)
Shapiro is probably their best best from an electability standpoint because with PA in their margin the path is much harder for the GOP.

Boy, that video was chocked full of information.

Shapiro is the mast sane Dem possibility.
But, he is too jewy.
The Jacobin left would never let that happen.
AOC could be a real thing.
Hold onto your hats, this is going to get good.

What is the connection to Newsome?
She was his Chief of Staff. There's no evidence yet that the plea deal (dropping 20 of the 23 charges) involve any sort of turning over evidence of wrongdoing by Newsom, only speculation at this point.
As his Chief of Staff, she is probably the 2nd most likely person to know where he has any possible skeletons buried (the first being his wife, see "behested payments").

She was his Chief of Staff while committing the alleged fraud. And presumably she wants a sweet plea deal so if I were Gavin I'd be sweating guilty or not.

They didn't enrich her enough to shut the frick up.
If Newscum gets taken down it will be by the Democrats, they probably want him out of the way so the DEI Queen Kamala can run again.

You also probably think it's not a net negative for Newsom that he hired this thief in the first place.

I don't have access to substantive, direct, and credible evidence (such as work history, cv, references, etc. at the time of hiring) to form any such opinion.
I doubt you have this data as wel.

She got a standard plea deal already. A month ago.

Another human cartoon character, just like Kama-lama-ding-dong. AOC went to Europe earlier this year in an attempt to bolster her bonafides, but that effort ultimately blew up in her face. On one occasion she had no answer for a very simple question. On another occasion, she ended up crying like a school girl.
And yet, both she and the crack addict Hunter Biden are two of the leading contenders according to the polls.

Beshear?
Does he really have the ability on a national stage? Kamala amd Boot edge edge have the name recognition, im not so sure anyone else does. I don't think it's Shapiro, some people are too closeted anti-semitic to vote for a jew. Especially any muslims, which has to be about half of the party now.

I'd say Shapiro is probably their best choice.
If they don't take the Bill Maher route, and put a bullet through the head and bury the Democratic Socialist wing, it won't matter who they run.
That crazy bullshite is not selling to any moderate or independent voter.
