FYI: Do you know that a " Covid-19 " sensor has been inserted secretly into every phone. Apparently when every one was having a phone disruption earlier this week, they were adding COVID -19 tracker to our phones
If you have an android phone, go under settings, then look for Google settings and see if it's there.

If you are using an iPhone, go under settings, privacy, then health, it's there but not yet functional. The app can notify you if you've been near someone that have reported having COVID-19.

Don't turn it on because you will be traced everywhere you go but once you update your phone it will automatically turn on and you need to go back in. And turn it off

So, I don't do FB anymore but my Sister got this on FB Messenger and sent it to me. I checked, and sure enough, there it was on my phone. What does the PR think about this. A nothing burger, or a huge leap in invasion of privacy. The fact that I cannot delete it, although it is off, bothers me. What else have they put in my phone that I do not know about. Creepy and "Big Brother ish" in my opinion.

Your phone already tracks everywhere you go.

It was included in the most recent iOS update (which I have not done).

It's there. It says "COVID-19 Exposure Notifications off"

So what? Your phone already knows where you go?

Well this is false. I just checked. It’s only if you update

You should have known this was possible the moment you got a smart phone. Get a simpler phone if you are worried.

It’s one my phone. Way too much of a privacy breach IMO. But the millennials will say it’s no big deal.

On my Android. Top Option under Google settings.

Spooky. I mean I knew this was eventually possible, but wow are we numb to this kind of invasion, no one will care.

I get that I have to turn it "on" but the problem is that there is a database somewhere with poitive Covid people on it, and then that is used to see if I am near one. What happened to HIPPA privacy laws? No privacy with Covid? Sure, I don't know who that person is, per se, but if I am only around a couple of people because of social distancing on a particular day and it says I was exposed on that day I can pretty much figure it out. This is scary and wrong on a bunch of levels.
What is the next thing they will track that I do? Go to a Trump rally? A tax cheat seminar? , A Communism talk? An AA meeting? This is never ending.

Compared to having a device with gps, microphone and camera and constant internet connectivity already? This is too much now? Lol

Here's one story about it that says you shouldn't be concerned about the privacy aspects because of how it is engineered.

Turning it on or off doesn’t mean much. Hell they could have added it to the phone without adding it to the health tab and you would have never known

Flip phone for the win! Remove the battery until you need to make a call.

It must only if you update. I have an iPhone 8 and it’s not on there. But I haven’t downloaded the last couple of updates.

HTF did this happen? I have developer mode enabled, auto updates off, Google Apps auto updates off, and location off.
