So if the Dems ever regain power again in the WH can the Rs scream bloody murder about Russia interfering and start a new investigation?
You mean like they did about Hillary's Emails and Whitewater?

King just inferred that Trump would murder Comey if he didn't drop the Flynn case.

Trump has to be furious right now. Bad day for him.

The only meaningful take-away from all of this is a reminder of the breadth and depth of the swamp.

Again, no it isn't. Not reporting a crime isn't illegal in America.

First of all, Mueller is a special counsel not a special prosecutor and second of all the POTUS can order the AG , or in this case the Deputy AG to fire a Special Counsel, and then fire him if he refuses and appoint a temporary Deputy AG to do so.
That is exactly what Richard Nixon did, politically a nightmare of course, but it can be done.
Or he can do like George H Bush did and simply pardon everyone the SC goes after LOL
First off congrats on responding without personal attacks.
I agree you are technically correct. If he were to do any of those things, just like Nixon, he would be pressured to resign within weeks. So while technically you may be correct, practically it's not an option.

Comey says to this same senator from yesterday that he can't answer his question in open session. The administration officials yesterday said the same thing to the senator that they wouldn't speak about coversations in open.
Today he sucks up to Comey. Yesterday he spit fireballs at the responses from the admiral and NSA director!

A special prosecutor is in no way an employee on the executive branch and the President has no way to put pressure on that person.
What does that have to do with anything? He was under investigation BEFORE he became president. Do you not think the previous administration's intel community didn't try to dig up as much crap as they could?

I kind of want Angus King to run an independent campaign for President in 2020.

Of course, the President concocting an excuse for Comey's firing, undermining it himself, and then talking shite on Twitter are further examples of poor judgment
I think his letter to fire Comey was just not all inclusive...it was the straw that broke the camel's back...
Everyone in the US knew this fool had to go for meddling in politics without bringing charges...for sHill and Trump
That is criminal enough...now we also know the AG is very culpable in charges not being brought...
It's always been a mess like this, it's just now so easily publicized, people see the truth much clearer without media filter...
Which CNN will not let go of...

quote:so you think the reason nothing whatsoever has been turned up in all that time was because the executive branch was pressuring these agencies, despite the directors of 2 of them directly saying under oath yesterday that that didn't happen? And the only guy even implying it was fired for incompetence and didn't find his scruples about it until he was fired, and who is himself a leaker to the press?
A special prosecutor is in no way an employee on the executive branch and the President has no way to put pressure on that person.

Been a good day for Trump.
Will he view it that way? Doubtful

Or maybe the powers, duties, and relationship of the President and FBI Director are a bit different than a typical boss employee relationship?
Except they are not.
A fairly direct parallel here
I OFTEN had one one one meetings with a base commander when either I got transferred or a new base commander came in, even though my job would technically put me in command of him if he ever became the subject of an investigation. Were those meetings wrong?
Some people just manage one on one, that's how Trump is.

Trump has had what he said about Comey saying he wasn't under investigation be proven to be correct.
Comey has revealed that Trump didn't exactly direct him to end the Flynn investigation.
Not too bad of a day, in my opinion.
