Apparently his views hold some amount of water with you. You are commenting on his statement.
Actually, no.
If you read my comment, it has nothing to do with his statement.

It has to do with his elevated sense of self importance. To bring that point fully home, I never considered opening the OP link, precisely because Clooney's views hold no water with me at all.

No, it was a business decision, as indicated by me (and several others) above.

I don't much want to try and teach you a course in settlement negotiations, cost of defense and nuisance value ... because you probably would not understand it. Google those terms, if you are interested.

Throw in the merger issues and the fact that Trump is a petty little bitch (perfectly willing to use the regulatory power in a vindictive manner), and you have a perfect recipe for negotiated settlements.

No doubt, Pedo Hank

You got absolutely destroyed in this thread. You should probably retreat and come up with another handle.

Perhaps something....oh I don't know....a little more French.

You do realize Ellison son is the buyer? I highly doubt Trump would block it given their relationship.........but its a bold strategy to make that argument, how did it play out????????

Assuming you are correct, the media and lawyers would have NEVER settled. Yet they did settle. We have reached what is called a contradiction to your initial hypothesis "frivolous lawsuits". Therefore, the lawsuits were NOT frivolous is the only conclusion to be made.

I had to chuckle at this. So one of the largest news companies in the world has no internal legal department?

They would rather admit to the world, as a news agency, that they are liars......because it would be a nuisance??? Thats a bold strategy Cotton

George Clooney has said that the United States would be in a better place if ABC and CBS had told Donald Trump to “go f*** yourself” rather than settle his defamation lawsuits.

Well, they didn't.

Railing against Bari Weiss, the “anti-woke” founder of The Free Press recently installed by Paramount chief David Ellison to lead CBS News, the Oscar-winning actor also warned that she is “dismantling” the Tiffany Network.

Of course, the celebrities will all rail about these two now. Can Weiss and Ellison take the pressure?

Honestly, I can't fathom how that choad even reckons this.

Ultimately, it was a private matter between Donald Trump and the two networks. I can't speak for you or anyone else, but my life hasn't been affected one iota by it.

if you are interviewing third- or fourth-tier slip-and-fall lawyers to handle business litigation, let me suggest that you are perhaps not the “successful businessman“ that you think you are.

Companies settle frivolous lawsuits every day.

It is the origin of the terms “nuisance value“ and “cost of defense.“
