I went in the store with my mom, she bought cigarettes… they were over $13. I don’t know how anyone affords to smoke.

If your goal is to become an authoritarian state then low T levels among males is beneficial. Nicotine increases T levels, hence also adding nicotine pouches.

It is very sad. If you are not infringing on someone else's life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness, then there should be no law banning such thing.

I have always imagined there would be candidates running for office under the premise of massive deregulation. It would be a win win for sure.

Missouri has the lowest tobacco tax in the nation and because of it we take in a ton of revenue. People from our neighboring eight states come here to buy their cigarettes and snuff.

I would love it if no one ever smoked tobacco, a known and very predictable carcinogen, for life. But having a law forcing it seems somehow wrong.

I've never been a fan of smoking. It tastes like shite, that musty smell from it gets into your hair, clothes, furniture, etc. and the smoke is a fricking annoyance.

That said, I hate the idea of anti-smoking laws even more and was completely against the law passed a while back mandating BR restaurants and casinos be smoke-free.

Time to flex our capitalistic muscle and start bootlegging cigarettes into New York.

At the end of May, the New York State Assembly introduced Assembly Bill A11509. The proposal would permanently prohibit anyone born after December 31, 2007, from purchasing tobacco or nicotine products for the rest of their lives.

Yeah, now do tattoo's.... seriously.

I love my youngest, but she has something wrong with her. The three or four she's had are discreet but I don't care... why do this? She told me yesterday on the way to church about one she likes, because it has a 'semi colon' on it, explaining those are people who have tried to commit suicide. Arrrgh. Yeah, you'r potential husband will really love that one.

Smokeless cannabis products

I see why you got so many downvotes

Is public smoking banned in NYC in general? Are cops going to come up & ID check someone for lighting up? This could make for some interesting enforcement

Oh boy.

As a chemist that actually studied nicotine in its pure form, this is incredibly false.

In the colonial days people smoked to pass time and they didn't worry about stinking because they all smelled bad most of the time. It was a product to generate money when there way little and it was just tobacco.

Fast forward to today when people don't need to pass the time, there are tons of crap in cigarettes, and people can actually smell you. I don't see the upside.

Me either. Its disgusting. However, if somebody wants to smoke go ahead. Its your body.

And this includes cigars, too?

I don’t smoke, but I’ve always been surprised that they bumped the age to 21 a few years back, and nobody said a word. Everyone just accepted it.

This is the inevitable next step.

Bulk pipe tobacco, an injector, and tubes. Takes a few minutes to roll a pack but you end up paying pennies per cigarette.
