So cracker barrel was failing
Because the quality of food and service was declining, not because it looked like a Cracker Barrel.
They misdiagnosed a hangnail and performed open heart surgery.

Their service and food quality declined over time
it mostly started about 5 years ago, when they went totally woke with the board of directors...and focused on hiring diversity/inclusion, and have admitted to tampering with the food to attract new.....
It all started with the woke movement. Look at the timeline on the stock chart.

And it was because of the same reason it was before this asinine change. The food and the service. What are they not fixing? Food and the service. Turns out it wasn’t much cheaper to go to prepackaged garbage warmed in the microwave after all.
All true. I’ve only eaten at CB 3-4 times over the past several years, and when I did it was for breakfast. To me the rest of the menu just went downhill, as did the service.
Fix the food/service, sales will go up.

they lose their base customers
CB is losing the base customer because they're older for the most part. We're dying off. CB is dead no matter what the new CEO does.

Their problem is younger people (Gen X and below) know what good food tastes like so they won’t be resorting to eating Cracker Barrel in their golden years. If they fixed the food it would price out the boomers living SS check to SS check.

Hmm.. from 1959 forward, what's consistent in that logo?
What's missing from the new Cracker Barrel Logo?

No, no you have it all wrong. This WOKE CEO pissed off throngs of folks who go to CB every week to see portraits of Uncle Herschel and Aunt Edna on the wall and eat slop.

that crowd was never coming
Yep.
They could potentially expand their customer base by advertising healthy options for greasy-spoon/meat-n-3 meals. Good fats, low sugar, etc.
But sterilizing a tchotchke-adorned old-timer model was the worst idea ever.

They have admitted changing their food over the last 4 or 5 years, about the time they brought on the DEI/Inclusive types
Changing =\= fixing. They have been changing their menu by using lower quality ingredients to keep prices down for the part of their customer base that hasn’t gone to the Upper Room. Fixing it would involve higher quality ingredients, but with higher prices.

Of course, Breitbart is going to be triggered

Wall Street is triggered as well. The stock price is tumbling.

Leftist have zero knowledge of business it seems. If you are losing your base, why is the question to be asked.
Answer was service was suffering. But service was suffering everywhere in food service. Waiting tables can be hard and some customers suck and it can be difficult to keep staff.
Was a time when the wait staff were maw maw and Mimi bringing your food and that is no longer in most Cracker Barrel.
Maybe the answer was to go Buccees model and pay better wages and attract retirees to be wait staff?

She’s a genius.
3 months ago, no one gave a crap about Cracker Barrel.
Now - 5 pages in 4 hours on this thread - the 20th started in the few days.
Bet you’ll notice a Cracker Barrel next time you’re out on the road.

Doesn't she know that executing unpopular CEOs on the street is viewed as heroic these days?

I guarantee that these same people were making fun of the left crying about Sidney Sweeney jeans ads too

Wouldn’t this be a bigger argument against expending ANY corporate resources on these sorts of “initiatives” than anything?
And yet, here we are.

So cracker barrel was failing before the wokeness and this is a ceos attempt to change things up and save the business? That sounds right actually
A CEO is supposed to change the things that need changing to put a business in a better position. Their recipe/menu changes and food quality issues along with their lagging service were the issues that were hurting them. Did she do anything to address those for the better?
No, she did a lazy rebrand that looks bland as hell that no one likes. If the food and service were meeting old standards, it likely wouldn't be as big of a deal. But if the food gets worse, the service gets worse, and then the place takes away any remaining nostalgic feel that still attracted a portion of its customer base, then you have almost nothing positive going on . So she failed. Attempting to make some changes wasn't the failure. Changing what she changed was the failure.

Do they have the thought that pushing gay shite will make them the Mecca for Homos, and they will corner the market on the small percentage of the population that makes up the pillow biter/carpet muncher monolith?
who have all come out supporting BLM/ LBQGT
How about this for a revolutionary idea: Create a product that people enjoy, sell it at a fair price, and provide good customer service.

Yes.
You keep what works and adjust what isn't.
