The Key Words, should be in the title
Black fathers (41%) in the home
And, do the math, 59% of black fathers in the home do not. Then adjust the numbers for the three races that have fathers somewhere other than in the home, including those MIAs, never in the home.

Well the Federal government is the actual daddy to 75% of black kids so maybe this is true.

Must be the same black guys on the Swiffer Wet Jet commercial worried about clean floors...

Black nuclear families have some of the highest statistical positive outcomes across any demographic.
The issue is that the relative percentage of black nuclear families is low.

It's all semantics...
Notice how they say "who live" with their children...
U.S. Census Bureau - Children living in two parent HHs
(2022–2023):
Asian - 81–85%
White - 70–74%
Hispanic - 55–61%
Black - 33–36%

Black - 33–36%
So, 70% of the 33-36%, which is actually 23-25% of all black fathers, are active in their kids lives.

Subset of a subset.

Why does Dad have to do this every day? Why should Mom? Aren’t they supposed to be a team sharing duties?
How many of these homes have stay at home Moms?
What’s the statistics on mothers who won’t let their husbands near the kids during this task?

That would include SINGLE FATHERS. And black fathers make up a disproportionate number of single fathers in the country.
Therefore a disproportionate number of black men make up a larger portion who are, by default, FORCED to do 100% of this work as single fathers.
Sorry but you cannot use just "live with children" because that sample includes a disproportionate number of black single fathers. For a realistic comparison, you have to compare two parent households.

I know several married black fathers and they are great with their kids.

I can believe this statement based on the opinion that black nuclear fathers realize they have to work harder to keep their kids on the straight and narrow, otherwise the street culture is an available outcome. They're trying to counter the vast pendulum swing that could result if they didn't put some effort into raising their kids and keeping them out of that trap.
God Bless the ones that see this for what it is.

Because they aren't working and the Baby Momma is.

The idea that a stay at home dad is more laudable than a working dad who provides for his family is a joke.

IF (big IF) this is true, it makes the story of black Americans and their outcomes even more interesting.
The big five theoretical causes for the poor outcomes for black Americans in the current period are:
1) Absent fathers
2) Current racism / “Institutional Racism”
3) Historic racism
4) Victim mindset
5) Genetic differences
There is consistent data that shows that second generation black immigrants from the Caribbean and Africa do better on average than white Americans. These are people who are indistinguishable from the ancestors of black American slaves as they interact in schools, the community and the business world.
There is an argument against this data that points out that these immigrants were self-selected for success and industriousness due to them leaving the bad circumstances of their previous nations, and I think there is some truth to that. However, this objection doesn’t discount the data in important ways.
It might diminish the historical racism angle since these people arguably were able to overcome generational poverty before arriving here. And maybe there’s a genetic component in that these ostensibly higher achievers were possibly made of better genes. (I personally think the genetic component as passed from generation to generation is highly over stated.)
I think that the main factor remaining of the five I mentioned is the self-sabotaging of the Victim Mentality, which is mostly missing in these later immigrants who depended on hard work and no excuses to get to America.
In reality, I think the second most important factor IS indeed lack of father involvement, and not just the kind where dad shows up at Christmas and Birthdays with a truckload of presents.

Do you have any links to stats on this? This is in no way snark or a swipe at you. I'm genuinely interested in this, as it's something that I don't see mentioned very much.
