It's not even that.
Over the past 5 years or so, the left has put all their eggs in the "public safety" basket. They do it at all levels of government from local school boards to city government, to state and federal governments. They do anything they want and call it public safety. Protest we don't like - shut it down for public safety. Resistance to idiotic policies we want to implement - no objections due to public safety. It's their go-to method these days and there is no shortage of useful idiots and corporate media that will help them push it.
They never use the legislative process to implement anything any more. They use government agencies ran by unelected, political partisans to circumvent any sort of legislative processes.

They tried this during BJs admin. The results came back that armed Americans prevent something like 100k violent crimes versus the 30k deaths per year, 2/3 of which are suicides. She’s better juice those numbers better this time. That report was locked away and was never spoken about again

Gun violence would be reduced by 90% overnight if all young black males living in democrat cities were put into camps. Throw the politicians from these cities in there too, since they would rather blame racism and allow the problem to fester instead of calling out the true reasons for inner city violence.

She’s right you know . Get rid of bad DA’s and even worse policies and build more prisons and round up all the thugs . Or you could do as ole Willie Nelson sang , find a rope and a tall oak tree . These would curb 95% of gun issues easily

Perhaps if the Democrats governing the big cities where most of the "gun violence" is occurring would get their cities under control for the first time ever, we wouldn't have a "gun violence" problem any longer.
It's certainly not the people hoarding guns in the country that are the problem.

Gun banning history is found in Jamaica where gun homicide was running in the 20/100,000 range. They assumed that guns were the problem and put together draconian laws for gun ownership. They backed it up with special police, special courts and special jails.
Gun deaths went down, but the overall homicide rate more than doubled with the primary weapon being gangs of thugs with machetes.
Perhaps the CDC should ban gangs and dems running cities where gangs have free range.
