This is good for America how exactly? No seriously, apart from a guy in wife beater t-shirt drinking his Pabst and saying "f*ck yeah" how is any of this good for America or Canada?

Again, no emptions, economic practicalities please. How is this going to help the people of Louisiana?

The U.S.-Canada trade balance reflects a complex economic relationship, with significant trade flows in goods and services. In 2024, the U.S. ran a goods trade deficit with Canada of $63.3 billion, down 1.4% from 2023, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. U.S. goods exports to Canada totaled $349.4 billion, while imports from Canada were $412.7 billion. However, when excluding energy exports (primarily oil and gas, which account for ~27% of Canada’s exports to the U.S.), the U.S. maintains a trade surplus of approximately $63 billion.

Build more power plants south of the Canadian border, and that trade deficit goes away. That's an anthill that didn't need to be kicked over.
if it wasn't for the state and city of NY, there likely wouldn't be any trade imbalance with energy included.

In the end, 19% of Canadian GDP was trade with US. 1.3% of our GDP is Canadian trade, with energy and it's imbalance.

The liberals they just overwhelmingly elected ran on frick Trump and, out of their own mouths, "inflict as much pain as possible on the American people."

So be it. But let's see who sees the mostest pain the fastest Cannuks.

We should respond in kind.

ETA: and I would be revoking all Canadian companies' drilling permits in the US and it's claimed economic zone waters (including the PNW). That includes Nabors, Suncor, and Western Lakota.

I honestly believe Trump actually did want this outcome to ensure Canada continues its economic decline.

It probably is not "good" for us but it takes two to tango. The Canadians quickly got their back up and decided we are their enemy. Trump could only have gotten elected in the US. Except for Italy and Argentina and perhaps El Salvador, the world swings left. And with Carney, they have their point of the spear. I can guaranty any fallout will not be good for Canada either.
I'd say, let's carve up MLB and the NHL so that Americans can play Americans. Let the Canadians fly halfway across the globe for their pastime. They have been vocally disrespectful to the US. Trump should play hardball.
Finally, if we were destined to be enemies because of the election results in the US. bring it on.

Good let’s cut off their pipeline we let run into our states and see how they like trying to fix that.

Don't worry, a federal judge in Hawaii will tell the Trump administration that they must allow Canada to use the pipleines.

Makes it easier to show everyone exactly what is going on. Nobody can pretend things are equal anymore between the two countries. The public can swallow the hard stance against canada better.

This isn't really bad for USA but it is terrible for innocent canadians as their government will just become more tyrannical.

You mean Acadia? frick those carpetbagging loyalist fricks. We took our freedom, they waited patiently for Her Majesty to "grant" it to them. You dont need anything else that describes the difference between the two countries and their people than that.

Good luck on having those other options guard your coastlines and carry your sorry liberal asses. They are as bankrupt as you.

I look forward to Trump shutting the borders down, and requiring visas. Get the snowbirds pissed at their PM. The people who come here for medical needs forced to deal with their own healthcare to the point they force change there too.

Frick'em.
