I have read a lot of things about this and Canadians are freaking out about this (in a bad way) - one Trump hating dude actually said that Trump was right and his country are morons for teaming up with China over USA

So now that we're driving our allies away, they're turning to China for more favorable trade deals.
We're losing economic dominance by driving our former allies to China, and we're dissolving NATO over some made up bullshite. Xi and Putin couldn't have drawn this up any better for themselves.

This is absolutely the fault of Trump's rhetoric. He cost the conservatives in Canada an easy victory and now Canada, being the weaker partner, is of course going to hedge against further rhetoric.

China is in deep trouble. Their population is facing collapse. Their census estimates were very wrong. There are not enough young people. It is very possible that the world, ie the US, will have to bail out China to prevent a global economic crisis. The next 10 years are going to be very interesting.
