title says it all, can trump sign EO day 1 to fire 100k IRS agents?

since this was done through legislation rather then EO, can it be undone by EO or can it only be done through another legislative bill passing?

Fire? No

Can he restructure or have a reduction in force....yes but will require help from congress in their appropriation bill.

Why not? Joe just singed an EO making taxpayers foot the bill for abortion vacations.

Rule of law means very little in DC

The first thing TRUMP should do is OPEN UP ALL OIL/GAS operations in the USA!

ENERGY INDEPENDENCE is the key to getting out of this shithole Biden created.

He can appoint a Director of the IRS and Treasury Secretary who will refuse to hire 83,000 IRS agents.

If they’re civil service, I don’t think he can. They’ll be able to stay on the job until they quit, die or retire. They may not be replaced, but they are permanent.

Good luck getting those confirmed by a hostile senate. He could do recess appointments, but Schumer will just make sure that the Senate never goes into recess. Its been done before.

How long are those positions funded for? Since this passed under reconciliation, I don't think it can be considered permanent.

Even if he issued the EO some liberal judge would block it, something so-called conservative judges don’t do with Brandon’s EOs.

He can do some frickery with EOs, but those will be challenged in the courts cause that’s what Democrat judges allow and do….I think the better thing is Congress defunding and changing it. When we win the House and Senate in 22, it will be a top priority in 2024 when we win all 3

Why would he have to sign an EO?

He's the head of the Executive Branch. He can just instruct that those positions are never filled. Just leave them open, and don't replace anyone that is fired or retires.

Doesn't the House control the purse strings? I was hoping they could just defund these initiatives in Jan when R's have control of the House.

Day 1 - End the Fed . . . and replace it with NOTHING.

Then the IRS agents will be redundant.

But go ahead and officially dissolve the IRS . . . and replace IT with nothing.

Then do the same for the Dept of Education.

Many, many problems will vanish instantly.

He could just push hard for a fair tax where there are only sales tax. That would neuter the new IRS agents and render them powerless. If you can’t get rid of the agents, then just strip them of their power.

No. But he can sign an EO to move IRS head quarters to nine Alaska and require everyone to work out of the office.

Employment would take care of itself…..

The money was appropriated to fund 87,000 new jobs phased in over the next 10 years. Its not 87,000 new positions today.

And I agree that the next President can just tell the Treasury Secretary to slow roll filling those positions until Congress takes the money back.
