I personally don't care how they spend it. I'd much rather see welfare recipients given cash instead of the bloated programs we have. They can spend it however they choose.
You have to be OK with children starving if you give out cash. Because when mom shoots up all her money the kids will still have no food.

As I read it, this is not a state issue. This is a CITY issue.
The same city that declared bankruptcy in 2013.
How stupid are these voters?

I am all for states being idea laboratories, except in this case, in which California already looks like they will eventually be needing a federal bailout.
HST, I’d like some of you liberal economists tell me, ahead of implementation, how we’ll measure the success/failure of this thing, and what we will see.

We know the liberals will produce nothing but pristine data showing the results like the climate change scientists.

This is now the default excuse of weakminded and dishonest. Just look how often it comes up in all social justice (bowel) movements.

universal income for families, $500 a month.
What a joke. That literally buys nothing in California, not even a half bag of groceries.

Poor people in Stockton about to have new iphones, knockoff Gucci purses, and get their hair and nails did

Look for rent to move up $500

Poor people are being paid to vote for Democrats that will keep them poor but give them just enough comfort in their poverty to keep voting Blue. Stupidity feeds itself.

$60k a year is a minimum? Please tell me that is a typo
Why? Typical family of 4. I wouldn’t want to live on 60 K per year, but if were talking a basic income for all families everywhere to eliminate poverty, I think 60 is a good number.
Posted on 3/30/18 at 5:09 pm to Meauxjeaux
Give everybody $60k a year and 5 years later the nonproductive still won't have what the productive do but everybody will have a couple more zeroes in their bank account.

This is absolutely ridiculous.
