I do welcome their power being broken up, but I’ll always prefer market solutions to that rather than government intervention.

Google and Apple apparently have removed Gab from their appstores.

What can the DOJ do about it?

What has it been, two days since twitter clarified the Trump tweet?

This reeks of a Trump temper tantrum. Lawyers have been burning the midnight oil to exact Nixonian retribution via executive fiat.

And the masses cheer...

On your behalf of what? Government interference into private companies? That’s not why I voted for him, he’s supposed to be doing the opposite. Some of y’all abandon your principals on a whim just for those sweet lib tears but in the end it’s you who loses. It’s swampy as hell.

Principled losing is still losing. A fact that seems to elude irrelevant cuckservatives like you. It’s also the biggest reason why conservatives have lost so much over the decade before trump and why your ilk have failed to ‘conserve‘ anything wholesome about this once great nation. Defending our Silicon Valley overlords ability to continue grinding us into dust so you can smugly flap about principles is almost fetish-like.

I say potential because trump will probably reverse course within days like he does with a lot of other stuff and spineless republicans in senate and house arent going to do shite other than make noise because they get money from these cocksuckers

Right.

This EO still has to get past Jared and Ivanka and that's by no means a gimme at all. Can't trust those two.

When the EO banning immigration during Covid 19 came down, some in the west wing literally said, "Tim Cook won't like this" and then the EO was severely watered down after.

That's the story of this administration in a nutshell.

Yes, government sticking its fingers into private businesses with regulations will fight censorship. I’m trying to make that work in my head gimme a min

Pretty easy when you realize that the government isn't "sticking their fingers in", they are removing their protective hand.

I wonder if its something like ordering federal employees to not use these platforms. Or tying federal monies to states unless they ban their state employees.

I don’t dispute this but replace Cook with farmers I think you have it correct.

That bill was going to effect farmers just as much if not more than Apple.

Can't tell - hyperbole or knee-jerk sky screaming?

If Twitter is its own company, and they don't want you posting certain things on their site/platform, aren't they within their rights to do so?

The 1st Amendment keeps our government from abridging the freedom of speech, not social media companies.

I think it's a bad move for social media platforms to enter into the waters of censorship, but unless I'm missing something, they should be able to do so.

Someone educate me if I'm missing something.

Clarified?

You're laughably disingenuous.

You think Trump would write an executive order ordering himself to not use Twitter?

Note the date; this isn't a new issue and it didn't begin with Trump.

LOL. He would make a post, get questioned or presented with an alternate view and he would respond with "frick you and nobody can refute his theory so frick everybody else's opinions" type of thing. At times it was like he was unhinged or needed meds.

That doesn't seem that unusual around here.
