nowhere did he say he was taking away their 1st amendment rights.

The method may not be appealing but the results may work. Courts will strike whatever is done down, which will make the national news. People won’t focus on the order as much as they will discuss the censorship taking place.

fricking fb and Twitter execs believe they are responsible for deciding which political opinions should be heard, and which should be silenced. That is publisher behavior.
If they are a publisher and want absolute responsibility for the content on their sites... then they need to be held accountable for the illegal activities that some people post.

He “fact checked” it because Alphabet, along with Facebook, are heavily interested in a Dem winning for multiple reasons, including Dems owing favors to tech companies, China going away as an issue, and loosened restrictions on H1Bs that these companies abuse.
The tech companies liked the environment under Obama better so they are throwing in with Biden to try and recreate that, kind of like how they threw in with Hillary in an attempt to preserve that.
