If TikTok is in China's back pocket, why are they pulling out of Hong Kong over the new security law?

The social media companies say they are assessing implications of the security law, which prohibits what Beijing views as secessionist, subversive or terrorist activities or as foreign intervention in the city’s internal affairs. In the communist-ruled mainland, the foreign social media platforms are blocked by China’s “Great Firewall.”

IF Trump bans it, the MSM will go apoplectic about how it is a freedom of speech issue, he's turning into a dictator, and so on.
Perhaps he should let is out that it's being considered, let that trigger the MSM into jumping into the Chinese camp, then some out with some very real reasons why you should not use TikTok, and see if the public itself makes the wise decision before actually banning anything.
One poster noted that he hoped Trump would because his kids are using it. You don't need Trump to remove it from your kids phones. If you think it is something that they should not be doing, then just do it yourself.

I've yet to see an actual explanation of why Tik Tok should be banned. If it was that bad, why aren't apple and Google removing it from play stores etc

Maybe the FedGov should just PUBLISH the uses that China is making of this data, and let the frickING AMERICAN PUBLIC make its OWN decisions.

It's a spyware and propaganda pushing app that's literally run by the chinese communist party. It secretly sends EVERYTHING it can get on your phone (the entire photo galleries, contacts, and more) to that fat frick Xi himself. Facebook and other social media sites are bad in their own way, but this one is run by our number one adversary to push propaganda (race riots) and collect massive amounts of information on Americans so that they subvert our country even more and have blackmail over an entire generation of Americans (zoomers and retarded millennials).
